Another man was arrested Sunday, though the arrest was not in connection with her kidnapping, police said. "Mario Abston, 36, was charged w/ Possession of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Manufacture & Sell Fentanyl, Possession of a Controlled Substance w/ Intent to Manufacture and Sell Heroin, & Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony," the Memphis Police Department said in a statement.
From the article, maybe I’m reaching here but maybe the husband owed on some drug debt and this was how they collected

But but the big bad black people did this!
Actually he looks like he is of average build. But yes, otherwise your statement is correct.

I had heard this as well from another source in Memphis. It was word of mouth of course.
Very plausible violence could have been directed at his wife since he didn’t pay up.

Husband wearing a CrossFit shirt. Sounds like the typical fentanyl user right there!

Or maybe this guy is a psycho and the family are innocent victims.

This is a horrible story that will not have a good outcome. POS raped and killed her more than likely.
Another thug that should have stayed behind bars and was let out because of progressive policies. When will people learn.

The husband isn't the billionaire, the father of the wife is. It's not a certainty he had access to enough money to cover his debts. The wife may have taken control of the bank accounts after a few issues minus enough for him to take care of his own business but not enough to fuel his drug habit. It's not crazy to think he could have had some debts that caused a retaliation.

No, that would be Nancy grace losers like you that have a sad boring life that try to make these elaborate crime scene fiction stories in your head
You have a man in cursory with an extensive rap sheet with a previous KIDNAPPING.
You don’t need to try and jazz it up anymore than that

While not wholly impossible, you’re completely grasping at straws if you’re still trying to link this to the husband at this point.

I believe it is the mother of the wife.

It’s undoubtedly from the mom’s side

I’ll never understand why women don’t get this. Never do it alone on the same route every time. My husband and I jog together. If you aren’t in a relationship, jog with a friend. This should be common sense.
My 17 year old daughter is a XC runner - I’ve woken up at 4 a lot to ride my bike behind her while she runs.

the other person he kidnapped at gunpoint in 2000 he kidnapped at 2 AM. Only reason that guy got away was because he screamed in the trunk of the car and someone heard him.

It's the husband who did it!!!
