Im not in law enforcement so Im not sure about tactical training but it did seem like he was aiming awful close to where his partner was standing and would not have taken much zigging instead of zagging in that situation for his partner to have taken a direct or ricochet round. Anyone in LE care to comment?

In this slow mo:

1) you can see the officer walking across the front with the phone out either recording or taking pics

2) you see the wheels forward as she starts to move forward.

3) his hand is already on the gun while she goes from reverse to drive

In that slow-mo video you can see his gun drop for a second. I assume that is when she hit him. It was at this time that he fired.

You couldn't clearly make out what was happening in the video OP posted. The following videos/angles made it more apparent that the agent was in fact in danger and the shooting was justified.

I read the first two and a half pages and that was enough.

If you don’t want to be shot by a federal agent, don’t interfere with their jobs. Don’t park across the street and block them. Don’t try to flee and hit one with your car.

I kind wish these ice agents would start beating the absolute shite out of these people and maybe just maybe these protesters would stay out of the way and mind their own business.

I didn't see any ramming i saw fleeing.

I saw another angle where it looks like the front corner/headlight area of the car made contact. You could see officer’s body around the waste start to bend in that direction when first shot was fired. His feet kind of skidded backwards a little in same direction on the slippery area of the road around same time.

She was trying to block ICE with vehicle (wife wasn’t in vehicle anymore when this was happening). It would be preferable if ICE agents didn’t have to deal with the locals breaking various laws trying to obstruct ICE from following the law. Legal protests would not get in the way in the manner that several local jurisdictions have allowed.

think this is a valid conversation to have btw. I think it's better when it involves some cop drawing on some baked stoner in a car who can't follow commands, or the hallway shooting video from years ago, etc. than this one, though.

But it could still be incorporated here.

It’s always a valid conversation to have, especially when someone loses their life. Not every single instance is a result of bad tactics on an officer and that they should be held liable , but Ida cop does something fricking stupid like moving and standing in front of a vehicle, then IMO, that officer has now accepted that risk. It’s like a cop telling you to pick up the gun then shooting you because you now have a gun and he feels threatened. Both are idiotic tactics but somehow only one is viewed as absurd.

However, we, as a society have accepted this ridiculously low standard for law enforcement that we think this just OK.

He doesn't have to be injured. Simply go point a gun at a cop and see what happens.

I definitely don't think they've "accepted the risk" and I think taking a defensive driver approach to policing has some very obvious downsides. The same people who whine about policing now would whine about ineffective policing then.

See what happened in Baltimore and DC and elsewhere after 2020.

But I nonetheless think it's a conversation to be had, and probably continuously. I'm not sure it's likely in an environment where law enforcement is demonized by one side or praised by another as political football, though.
