gets sent to jail, charged with a felony.

quote:

52-year-old woman traveling alone at 11:21 p.m. on a dark county road, she was concerned for her safety.

Assuming the car behind her was a police officer, Good said she slowed her vehicle, put on her emergency flashers, waved her arm out the window to acknowledge the pursing car and continued for less than a mile where she pulled over into the lighted parking lot at the Kohl's department store in Portage.

The decision not to immediately stop resulted in her being handcuffed and taken to jail by Porter County Sheriff's Department Patrolman William Marshall on a felony charge of resisting arrest. It may also cost her her job, because a nurse cannot work after being convicted of a felony, she said.

quote:

Good said she was surprised by his reaction and told him to stop yelling at her.

35 mph speed limit in rural Indiana. I'm sure it's that low for safety reasons.

That cop probably feared for his life and saw something suspicious in her car so he could ransack it too.

Holy shite.

No way I am pulling over on the interstate.

If they arrest me for that, that's dumb.

I'm sure someone will come along and try to make a funny comment about 'if she would have been black'

I could be wrong, but I doubt that sticks.

If I recall correctly, it's within your rights to continue driving until you get to a well-lit area where you feel safe. I think the purpose for this was in the scenario that someone was actually being pulled over by someone impersonating a cop.

she challenged his penis size so something like this which a normal human being would let the lady go and ask her to slow down turns into a huge ordeal.

Ima go ahead and guess that there was a whole lot more to this story than what we are hearing...I would like to see the camera footage.

I had a SC Highway Patrol officer scream at me because I drove about half a mile to a spot with a wider shoulder for HIS safety.

He said that's not my decision to make.

There's probably not. Small town cops are notoriously retarded

Prosecutor dropped the resisting charge two years ago.

I have a real problem with cops that escalate charges because they are aggravated or feel inconvenienced

That depends a bit on local laws but yes that is an accurate rule of thumb. Doubt this sticks unless there is more to the story.

She also could have called 911 to tell that cop she pulling into a safer area. I doubt that would have prevented her from getting arrested but it might prevent some people from getting shot.
