My five-year-old loves toys like that little "Seedlings" craft kit. Sometimes crafts require a little bit of hands-on parental involvement... hmm. Maybe that's the problem.
Doing crafts together is really good for kids. I put our little projects on a shelf in my office, and every time my kid or myself sees them we remember something positive.
Shaniqua would rather some expensive dopamine factory so her kid will shut up for five minutes and let her go hang out on the other side of the motel room. I don't blame her completely, though. Some people require a firm, guiding hand, and we lost sight of that as a society.

I always tell them I “donate” via the IRS.

You don’t need to signal your virtue here. Thanks.

That’s because you are a good parent. Nothing wrong with simple toys and crafts. Plus making good memories. I won’t give to those organizations. And those type of people find every list to get onto. They can work to provide for their own kids.

I mean. It wasn't much. I wasn't looking for anything. People know about it here because they pitched in.
But that's the only way I'd do it. With proof it's going to help actual kids in need

Haha okay whatever it absolutely was. It’s okay to be a narcissist.
Just own it.
And try to not do it as much because it makes people feel awkward around you. One of those things people think but never tell you.

Do you know me or something? I almost never even mention this. What's your deal? Other people have mentioned it more than I have. It's a rough fricking Christmas so go ahead if you want to get your jab in too.

Wow . Crazy to even publicly admit that

I am definitely shocked and surprised by the demographics of the perpetrator.

I don't understand how you can complain about free gift(s) from complete strangers. It may not be the toy/present your child likes but someone is trying to help you.
