For me, it is more the rapey shite that went on around him and his entourage. That was first brought to light by a man/biographer who was heralded as being the preeminent historical authority on MLK. After he wrote about that people commenced to tearing him down.

I've always found it funny that in general, Malcolm X is sort of villainized and MLK is propped up by conservatives. Should be the other way around. Malcolm X was 10x the man MLK was.
