I don’t really have a problem with the Florida bill but Disney should be able to freely speak out against the government without relation by the state. Oh well cheap Disney stock for me until the next pointless culture war starts in a few months and everyone moves onto something else

Disney is going to spend tens of billions of dollars to relocate just to avoid some taxes? Where are they going to go?
Not to mention the years of lost revenue due to the parks being down.

If Disney leaves,
I don’t think it would be worth the absolutely immense cost it would take to pick everything up and move. In addition they would likely prefer a location that’s warm for most of the year so a large chunk of states are automatically out. They would also likely prefer a state that’s not to close Disneyland in California.
In other words, not too many options (if any) for them that would be worth it to leave Florida

There is absolutely nowhere they can go, they won’t leave Florida. You aren’t getting 25000 acres of land in a nice year round climate on this side of the country for a price they could pay without having to compete for it when people learn Disney is going there. Just not gonna happen. Disney is stuck, they will fight it in courts.

Yep. Nor will they really find a place that can open all year with the combination of international airport and huge population in driving distance.
Someone said "Walt wanted it in Missouri." Lol. Who's making plans to travel to Missouri? No one. They'll do Sea World, Universal, and the beach instead.

Yep.
I think their point is ridiculous, but government shouldn't be holding favors for good behavior.

I think being brought back to the same policies most other businesses operate under isn't "retaliation"

It's the same liberal logic they use with job numbers. Lockdown lost 10M jobs but getting 5M back is counted as new jobs.
Bringing Disney in line with most Florida businesses isn't punishment, its equity that the left claims to want. Hmmmmm?

You'd have done better just leaving the thread.
99 times out of 100, no liberal perspective is posted in threads like this. It's conservatives going, "omg c on z would say that," meanwhile c on z virtually never posts.

Something about not teaching sexuality to 10 year olds and younger. But you keep supporting the groomers.

I'll bet I know more than you having lived here for more than 25 years. You morons want equity until you don't. Make up your mind. Disney had accommodations that 99.9% of other businesses in Florida didn't. Now they are all the same. What's the problem?
Posted on 4/21/22 at 4:53 pm to Byrdybyrd05
Podnah, if you think people won't be visiting Disney because of this, you obviously don't know people very well.

These board leftists think this is the hill to die on. Defending one of the largest media coorporations in the world so they don’t lose their corporate welfare all because Disney spoke out in favor of sexualizing children. This is their Alamo!

The perspective that celebrates the righteous killing of 7 kids in a truck via drone strike in Afghanistan?
Your perspective adds no value and is stupid at best. It doesn’t deserve to be posted.

The only people who believe that are the Halliburton heirs. News flash: they vote Republican.

I live an hour from Disney. We went this weekend and it was packed as usual. Not sure what hill you think they're dying on. They just aren't bothered by the existence of gay people . DeSantis is a blowhard just like Trump. Focus hard on hot button issues that really don't matter, turn people against other people even though its of no consequence to themselves. Nothing to see there, just low-IQ shitty humans.
