This site is anonymous, so people sometimes say some outlandish shite (in good fun, no doubt). But if Chicken or a mod were ever to allow our identities to become public there could be a lot of problems for certain people.

Does TD needs a "nuclear option" that allows users to quickly delete their entire post history? Some of y'all with tens of thousands of posts could be fricked without it.

To answer your question, we take user privacy very seriously...I refer you to our Privacy Policy (linked at bottom of page):

quote:

Personal information collected by us includes:

* Email Address (submitted by users who register for our website)
* IP Address (collected for all registered users)

We do not sell your data that we collect, or share your email address or IP address with outside parties, unless we are required to do so by a valid court order.

Additionally, just Circus Child and I have access to user email addresses.

If that were an option, a lot of you should be proactive and delete your shite right now.

If you signed up with a burner email, all they have on you is that and your ip address(es).

You'd likely have to get a subpoena to get an isp to turn over your personal information.

So you'd probably have to be under some sort of lawsuit/criminal investigation. Saying something that's offensive isn't going to put you in that situation more than likely.

So Chicken, or the mods, can identify you by an email address? How could they reveal your identity?

Depends on how many things you've shared. You would be surprised how well people can piece things together from seemingly inconspicuous information.

Nah, just be men and stand behind what you say. Shouldn't only have courage when you're anonymous.

I see where people get banned on here all the time. But I wonder, if ever someone posted something that was a clear and credible threat if Chicken would share their identity with the authorities?

I mean, nobody here really posts anything that’s untrue. Insensitive? Absolutely. Untrue? Not really. Racist? Many liberals would call statistics racist, so you’d get called one, but nothing that fits the actual definition of racism. I’m pretty sure the entire board would crucify some Redneck coming on here and hard “R”ing all over the place. We wouldn’t stand for that, but we also don’t stand for the media-driven SJW BS that is forced down America’s throat either.

I’ve never seen a person here say Ni___r or anything like that on here. If people are offended by the truth, that’s on them. Crime is a problem. Maybe we should be more out in the open about this topic. At least a “real conversation” will happen.

He would have to with FISA or similar request. "They" could probably also make their way into his admin portal with ease if they wanted to.

What if you have a small business? The SJWs would absolutely destroy and bankrupt you.

I don't really try to hide who I am because I'm generally not an a-hole (I don't think). I can think of a handful of posters that know who I am irl.

Mikelbr definitely knows who I am, where I live and is friends with my wife on Facebook

Even before all of this, I thought this website needed a "Delete Account" option. It is only fair.

I get that it would lead to potential issues with troll accounts and whatnot, but it would be a greatly appreciated option.

Identifying info on TD:

-Your email address (only admin can see it, but use a burner email and you don't have to worry about vengeful admins outing you)

-IP address (even though admin can see everyone's IP address, I don't think they can tie a particular IP address to Braxton Boudreaux unless Braxton's internet provider gives them that info)

-Your post history (don't put identifiable info in your posts if you want to ensure anonymity)
