WBRZ still insisting that nothing is happening and only mentioning a possible mix north of our area.

Not saying they will be wrong but I don't recall a time when everyone was ignoring ALL major models less than 24 hours before an event is supposed to happen.

Pat Shingleton SWORE that Harvey was going to go into Texas and continue westward into Mexico and stall out here, then dissipate. He was insisting this was going to happen 12 hours before landfall when EVERYONE else was saying it was going to do exactly what it ended up doing.
Pat Shingleton is an idiot and pathetic excuse for a weather man. I know he's only the "chief forecaster" but he doesn't even deserve to walk around their meteorology department.

He downplayed snowmageddon in ‘08. Watched the 10 o’clock news where he said nothing will happen and woke up at 6 to a couple inches of snow outside. He is terrible.

Seriously though -- if ALL the models are correct (and they're ALL predicting snow for the entire BR, northshore, and River Parishes areas), then anyone from the BR area should receive at least an inch, maybe 2 or 3 inches. Points further eastward over to the northshore may even see 3-6 inches.

That's my take after seeing all the major models. There isn't a single major model that isn't projecting at least 1 inch for those areas.

It might actually be happening.

Shingleton seems to be a slave to one model, the VIPR. It's a model they pay for and if I'm not mistaken, it's the one ole Bob Breck was backing down playing Katrina in the New Orleans area.

He really should learn to follow the baws that know what they're doing at the Weather Service or pay for the private mets the oil companies use.

These are the snowfall + sleet forecasted totals from that 6z NAM run.

The exact location isn't going to be accurate, but the possibility of 6"+ totals are there.

This will be the first time some ladies in BR have seen 6 inches in their lifetime.

...it's showing 12 to 13 inches of snow in MEXICO.

Does that seem reasonable to you?

Yeah but does that take into account melting? If temps are above freezing I imagine it will take some melting to occur before anything frozen can accumulate on grassy surfaces.
