I feel like the models are trending away from Baton Rouge. NOAA now only mentioning a risk on Friday morning as opposed to Thursday night AND Friday morning and the mention for Friday is literally ONE hour, between 7-8 AM.

NAM coming in a little better for BR than the last run but not as good as it was showing in earlier runs. Maybe an inch? Going back in the right direction, though.

Yeah, the "bulls eye" is actually focused on BR in the 3km high res NAM. I'd say 2 inches. But I wouldn't get hung up on totals at this point. Convectiv snowbands will train over an area combining with very efficient wet-bulbing. This can lead to some 3-5 inch bands in short order.

Reference the Dec 4, 2009 event
LINK

Bottom line is that luck decides where those bands setup

Something's not adding up. BR got snow on 12/11/2008. That was the big event.
12/4/2009 was the earliest ever recorded, but it was only .5 or so

It also snowed 2/12/2010 if memory serves

GFS coming in strong tonight.

Pretty widespread 2" returns from BR to the east. They're all lining up now.

Does anyone recall what the forecast called for before the big '08 snow? I don't think it called for much but ended up getting 6" in Madisonville.

You never know.
I had 7-8 inches near Hannan High.

Please let this happen. Kids growing up here need to see snow at least once to have a fulfilling childhood

What’s all this mean to me in Monroe? I’m farther north so I’m hoping that means I get snow for sure. I have to live up here with all these hicks, at least give me some snow.

Dave, you’ve obviously no idea how bad the red necks will drive in the snow. Plus the checkout lines at the Louisville and Cypress St. Walmart’s will be 2 hours long when you go get your storm suppplies.

Good luck brother.
