Wait it’s gonna drop 8 inches in Houma?

no.

One NAM run dropped that total.

LIX per the discussion this evening has the snow line about at the Mississippi River. Flurries in BR that might dust cars. Possibly .5 inches on elevated structures on Northshore. Maybe some snow falls in NOLA.

Jay Grimes just basically said every model is on board and it’s happening. Just don’t know how much

GFS with 6+ hours of snow on northshore

RGEM is derived from the Canadian. It's essentially their medium range (48 hrs and in) specialty model.

Shingleton acting like this is all a joke and wont even mention it. He is the worst but also not a meteorologist. Their in-house model looked like a joke and very similar to the GFS. Is it in-house or just GFS or does he pick what he wants to show on air?

And I think GFS is coming around but shifted everything south of BR and gave it a more severe tilt, if that makes sense.

Planning to drive to Birmingham Friday Morning. Need to be there by lunch.
Should I leave Thursday night? Not experienced with driving through this stuff and dont want to risk.
Thoughts anyone?

The NWS is mentioning it. He really should avoid deviating from those guys.

As far as the Birmingham portion of your trip, I wouldn't worry about it.
I have never seen someone go to the trouble to post a map of "up to 1/4 " of snow" WTF is that, 3 snowflakes?

Ever driven on a muddy road?

That's what up to four inches of snow is like.

I’m confident in my ability. It’s getting out of Louisiana on i12 Friday morning that scares me. People can’t drive on that stretch as is. Add some snow and it’s like the apocalypse

Seems we are on a 4/5 year cycle for winter weather in LA. I'm wishcasting but with all the crazy weather lately I'm going to guess South LA gets 4 inches of snow. Stall baby, stall.

Does not compute. There's a reason why his title is "Chief Forecaster" on WBRZ
