LSU will probably cancel classes after noon or something like that since it's an afternoon event for us. For as SJW as LSU is they're still pretty reluctant to pull the trigger early.

LSU will stay open during the worst, then close after the fact when it's over.

FYI.. the high in Birmingham the day before Snowmageddon on Jan. 27 2014 was 53. We will be close to that today. Not saying tomorrow will be as bad, but this is certainly a decent analog to 1.28.14...

Best weather man in Birmingham tweeted that out earlier. I'd like to choke him for it.

So when can that high school teacher get back to her fight? Off today. Off tomorrow maybe. Off in a few weeks and few after that. Then it's summer. Maybe August?

LSU shouldn't consider pulling the trigger until tomorrow and that's if model runs keep coming in wetter and the NWS is more on board for this area.

People will make fun of Alabama for the state shutting down for so little snow. However, the thing is is that roads will be warm enough for the first bit of snow to melt when it lands, but air temps will be cold enough for the melted snow (water) to freeze quickly, so we will likely see a “flash freeze” similar to like we saw on 1-28-14, and there will be a layer of ice on the roads.

At least with this event we are expecting it. On 1-28-14 they expected the snow to be further south than it was, so everyone further north was caught off guard.

School closures are starting to roll in. I'll try to keep the OP updated. I think the timeline to make a decision is upon us in NWLA.

Louisiana is probably worse. We aren't equipped to handle snow and ice and most people here have never driven in it. Best to keep them off of the road

I told my wife there’s no way schools will be open tomorrow after that tweet. I imagine there are thousands of voicemails at every school districts’ office bitching about the apocalypse coming tomorrow.

Yeah, I lucked out with Caddo already being closed for teacher work day. My lovely wife took off weeks ago to watch the kids.
