LSU always finds a way to ruin a snow day. I wake up, I can't go back to sleep.

gotcha. yeah the 36 hr looks better, and i wasn't sure about the ratios. We'll all just have to wait and see!

Hey don't focus on one model run, NWS still predicts you guys to get frozen precip, see my post above i directed at you

Thats from the 0-24 hr timeframe. The weather on this run is in the 24-36 hr timeframe.

Once again, LSU finds a way to piss me off with how they handle situations like this.

I bought some batteries, charcoal, and a case of water. Bring it on nature

For those that dont know: 1 inch of liquid precip can have a total break down of the following ratios:
5-10" of snow
1-3" of sleet
.25-1" of freezing rain
5-10" of snow
1-3" of sleet
.25-1" of freezing rain

So how much ice/snow does that translate to? 8"?

Damn i would have thought it would take more rain to equal that much snow that is crazy thanks for posting

So how many roof failures does LA see if we get 6+ inches of accumulation?
We ain't set up for that shite.

So will my kids be able to write their names on the hood of my jeep in Metairie?
Posted on 1/27/14 at 9:53 am to bayoudude
the conversion is true, but keep in mind it still depends on temperatures and when they line up with the moisture, as to who will get what and how much.. the total precip maps can be deceiving.

The details cannot be sorted out at that model resolution. Looks like BR is in the .5-1" of liquid range. Any accumulation of the various types are possible.

Whether I work tomorrow and Wednesday hinges on whether EBR cancels school or not
