True. Things are only bad when they catch us off guard
Too much reporting and preparation means we won't get anything

Larry Cosgrove (another meteorologist) posted this on facebook
Larry Cosgrove
When looking at the snow/ice threat for the Dixie states:
What he's referring to in February is another ice storm predicted by the GFS, but thats far out, and not for this thread..

When looking at the snow/ice threat for the Dixie states:
quote:
1) Follow the 1000-500MB Thickness charts; 546dcm should be close to all snow, 552dcm the ice to rain conversion
2) Traffic hazards in Houston will be in daylight on Tuesday, Baton Rouge and New Orleans on Wednesday morning
3) Southern Louisiana below Interstate 10 will see a crushing ice storm with both power and travel interruptions. Less precipitation implies just road icing issues in SE TX on Tuesday with a temperature range from 27 early to 32 in afternoon.
4) The NAM scheme normally handles frontal waves like this one better, which tells me that heavy snow risks (3 - 6") in this case will be along and 75 miles to the right of an arc from Fort Polk LA....Natchez MS....Montgomery AL....Columbus GA....Columbia SC....Fayetteville NC....Norfolk VA.
5) We will all have far bigger problems starting February 3. Trust me on this.
