I did not realize there was a warm air loft.
I thought this was the BIG Freeze and anything to do with warm was long gone.

Medic can you link the gfs and euro?

from gulfcoastwx.com
Thibodaux has a nice chance at seeing snow in the next hour. It may be flurrying right now, but larger flakes are to your west.

This is obnoxious. Stores need to be fricking open. I forgot to buy cigarettes before the lafourche curfew.

what models are you looking at? I'm very interested in knowing. TIA
InstantWeatherMaps
Euro and GFS operational models are there. There usefulness decreases after about 168 hrs. The Euro goes out to 240 hrs and the GFS goes out to 384 hrs. The GFS is run 4 times a day and the Euro is run twice a day.
Then the GEFS
The ensemble runs of the GFS. They are useful for pattern recognition and making sense of the operational runs. They are run at a much lower resolution than the GFS. This site shows the mean but you can get the individual members, if you look.
The Euro also has ensembles but they don't off those for free but you can get the mean for free from the Euro website.
If you really want to go down the rabbit hole you can start looking at the teleconections.
and stuff like the EPO, PNA, etc

I live east of Denham. WAFB's radar says that it is snowing in EBR and LP. I see nothing. What gives?

Is there more snow on the way tonight for BR? Should we let the kids stay up?
