This. I do think man will set foot on mars though. My guess is a base on the moon to supply and help set us up to get to Mars. Then the diamond crusted asteroids are next!

The company had thier own Army and Navy to protect their interests.

Bernard Cromwell writes on this in his Sharpe Series of books.

Interesting reads.

That moron doesn’t represent all in her party, let alone all of Washington.

That being said, that company was a political force with heavy influence all over the globe. It would be the equivalent of ExxonMobile on steroids. It enjoyed a government sanctioned monopoly for decades. There is good reason why we avoid that today.

This. SpaceX, NASA, Blue Horizon, and Boeing have this goal in mind no doubt. Within 50 years the tech will be perfected and much more affordable. We need a base on the moon within a decade as a launch and resupply point for asteroid mining expeditions. Mars will be next due to its proximity to the asteroid belt. Baby steps. And it may not be people going out and doing this. AI and robotics would likely come into play here.

Actually SpaceX wants to build a constellaion of minisats to provide internet in remote locations as well as faster longhaul overseas data transport than the current fiber optic cables.

Well...technically, the federal reserve isn’t “worth” anything. It’s an institution that holds assets on behalf of the government (mainly the US Treasury) for the purpose of controlling the money supply and interest rates.

You could ask what the value of the assets that the Fed holds is...that number is

‘Bout tree friddy.

OK seriously, it’s $4.5 trillion as of today. That number fluctuates a good bit depending on what monetary policy looks like. For example, during the Great Recession, it held less than a trillion in assets because the Fed was aggressively pumping dollars into the economy.

Yeah, it's called the Sinaloa Cartel.

OK, a little exaggeration.

This is random.

But there are a few things that would make whatever company that invents them the most valuable company on Earth.

My favorite - A cheap and efficient way to desalinate ocean water and use it for power on an industrial scale with no/low carbon emissions.

Think if ocean water became fuel.
