And just by looking at that picture you can tell those kids are not OT poors. I think the outfits are cute for kids of both sexes until about 3 or 4.

Here's a boy in smocked shirt:

Smocked dresses should be in the list of hobbies of someone in your child's extended family.
How's your child going to learn to be creative by watching things arrive in bags? Take the kid to pick out fabric and let him or her watch the sewing and smocking happening.

The little boy in that picture is thinking “why the hell am I dressed like a girl? If I grow up to be gay....well here is where it all started”

You grew up trailer trash right? Explains your opinion. I'll be sure to get a white 3 piece shiny suit with tie and newsboy cap for your 1 yr old

So classy

love monogrammed clothes, but have only bought two pieces for my son. One was his coming home outfit (which didn't fit until he was 2 months) and the other is a shirt for his first birthday. I don't buy others because honestly I don't feel like spending $20 on a shirt he will fit into for a month. He is 10.5 months and already on his 6th set of clothing.

my son was in three months clothes when he came home from the hospital he was long and chunk at 9 pounds

When you're having an online argument about a baby's clothes being trashy or classy, it's time to log the frick off the internet and re-evaluate your decisions.

Dude you are the one just trying to justify dressing your little boy like a little girl and thinking it is a status symbol.

my wife manages a kids store, but they have been going away from smocked clothing recently and going towards the more modern clothes

This is true, but we still do a good business in them. This is Alabama and the styles stay a little more conservative for longer.

I am late to this. I love smocked everything, even on little boys. I imagine if I have kids they will wear this kind of stuff.

I don't even have kids, but I know a lot of toddlers who take family pictures in smocked outfits.. It's not like they're wearing them 24/7... I have baby pics of me and my siblings in smocked clothes. Doesn't bother me

Sorry you're trashy and you put your kid in a Walmart or a Target suit.

I guess it kinda is a status symbol if the poors can't afford it.
Prince George doesn't seem to mind.

Smocked clothes are hideous and I'm glad my wife agrees. I feel like 95% of smocked clothes are purchased by former sorority girls.

My wife doesn't put these on my daughter thankfully. There is a family friend in Louisiana that always does this to her daughter and we make fun of her all the time.

Sorry you're trashy

The people that seem to do this are trashy Louisiana people.
