People should be more worried about America making a comeback because it’s not what it used to be.

Wind farms in the gulf and solar farms all across the state should be a step in the right direction

People are done paying the crazy homeowners insurance in LA.

It’s equally as high along the gulf coast. The increase is due to catastrophic weather events. It’s why the price of condo rentals are skyrocketing from Gulf Shores to Destin.

Moreover, Gulfport-Biloxi MSA is increasing in population by about 2000 each year, that’s not impressive and not indicative of hoards of people moving from New Orleans to the coast.

Unlikely, but maybe

You want all your crop producing land turned into unproductive eyesores? In a state sitting on huge natural gas reserves, the most efficient way we have to produce power?

Never understood this, just move. If your family doesnt support that, that is their issue to get over.

I’m 45 years old and this state has had only two years of economic prosperity that didn’t involve Federal funds from some sort of natural disaster. So to answer your question, the state will never prosper.

A few years ago - when I first felt the shite-storm brewing - I floated the idea of living out the rest of my years in a friendly foreign country. People threw rocks at me.

No, a third of the population is on welfare and has 7th grade reading level.

The next third are smart enough to keep a job but do dumb shite like get $700 F150 notes and vote for people because they know their "mama" and he's "one of us."

The elite have a "big peice of small pie is better than a medium peice of huge pie" mindset.

This pretty much nails it.

The state has been ruled by corruption that preys on the ignorant so long that it is just an accepted reality there.

This board is mostly college educated people who are much smarter than the bottom third described above.

But a lot of them fall in to that second third. I've read way too many posts with people talking about how much they pay on truck notes and mortgages. And why they back horrible political candidates.

And the elite keep it that way while rolling in generational wealth.

Louisiana is a state with the greatest potential within their people, who are happy to accept the shite they are given. So they never insist on real change.

One political party has run this state (overall) for 95% of it's miserable existence. On top of that, demographics will dictate destiny. Yes, LA does vote red in presidential elections since clinton, but make no mistake, this state is now blue through and through.

So to answer the question, not a chance in hell and I can't wait to move out. I am partially responsible, so I apologize as well.

And another thing - in Louisiana, these are stuffed crabs. Not crab cakes. That is a yankee term that is infecting our cuisine.

No, the state as a whole isn't going to flourish. But it's not because of a corrupt few. It's because of the kind of people who live here. I live in Mandeville, which is by far the most functional part of the state I have inhabited. When this inevitably declines, we are gone.
