While they are a menace, you can NOT harm Ole Miss fans.

Just curious, where do they live? I've never heard of... well... any wild hogs around here. I am in no way doubting you, I'm just curious as to where they are.

Hell yeah. And I am dead serious. They are good eatin. They used to be a bigger problem in some areas around here, but people have helped control their population.

Common house cats allowed to roam outside are bigger environmental disasters. Spay for cats folks

There are homesites on my way to our camp. The hogs get in the yards and it looks like the yards have been plowed. It is amazing the damage done.

Oh I agree. I actually prefer Western Carolina grub over Memphis dry rub. However the assertion that you can find better BBQ at your average run of the mill restaurant in Slidell or wherever is ridiculous.

Feral hogs are 1. highly abundant; 2. delicious; 3. nutritious; 4. free.

In a more civilized time we'd be giving up our thanks to God for this incredible, undeserved blessing instead of bitching about it.

Dickeys in Slidell is the same as the Memphis BBQ we had. Must be the same family of cooks

Picking off a few with a rifle (assuming you can do it) won't get the job done. He needs to invest in some of those traps that catch a bunch at a time.

You forgot:

5. Carry numerous diseases that are communicable to humans.

I grew up messing with feral hogs. Trapping, marking, cleaning. Though I probably inoculated myself to whatever they carry, I don't touch one now without gloves.
