It's easy to know if your SO is being shady in 2015. All you have to do is observe how they act about their phone. If they are protective of it, keep it close, keep it on silent a lot, etc, none of that is a good sign. If they just leave it sitting around anywhere and don't act protective of it, either you are fine or she has a burner.
