My family is tailgating on the 23rd, visiting the inlaws the 24th, out of town the 27th - 30th. Combine that with thanksgiving being as late as possible = my tree is going up next weekend.

The house more festive I could GAF, but absolutely if it makes the wife even once a week more frisky I would absolutely allow it even thought I think anything Christmas before Thanksgiving is pretentious.

Don’t have mine up but this is not a thing you should even consider mentioning to her. Stay away from this. Get the stuff out. Return the boxes. Help when called upon only.

Was she drinking a pumpkin spice latte while she did it? Is she wearing a vest, leggings, and tall boots?

We pick ours up the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Yes, we have 1 of our two big decorated Christmas trees up the weekend after Halloween, and a small decorated one up in each of our two kid's rooms. There will probably be about 10 more small to medium size pre-lit (no ornament) trees that will go up in the next week. I don't have to help because my wife knows she is over the top, but the house is definitely more cozy when they are all up.

Also house is not too big (2600 sq ft) so no real "need" for a second large decorated tree, but my wife is not normal when it comes to Christmas.

My wife always gets stressed heading into the holiday season. All the planning and the cooking and the decorating gets her mind preoccupied.

I learned in the mid 1990’s that if I help her shop for all the relatives and kids and get all the decorations up by the end of the first week of November - she is as relaxed as a 10 year old golden retriever.

Relaxation equals ______.
