My wife makes plans all of thr time without consulting me, some times I get pissed, sometimes I don't. Depends on the plans, I guess. Sometimes she just figures it's not something I'm interested in. She's usually right, but the invite should still be standard. I usually just enjoy a quiet day doing what I want. We all need one of those from time to time. Don't ask me for advice though, wife and I got into an argument last night and haven't spoken a word or even been in the same room for 26 hours now.

I will stay home if I don’t want to go. I won’t act like an arse about it, but I will tell her I am not going. My wife will respect me and I respect her. End of discussion.

No, I am expected to go. If I don’t then I am selfish for skipping out on a family event.

About four or five year into our marriage my wife and I decided we could do some family events by ourselves. This has made us both very happy.
