She is likely suffering hormonal imbalances. The good news it is unlikely to be her or you. She should get a full panel work up and get on some natural replacements when she finds out what’s out of whack.

Why not come to an understanding that you can have sex outside of the marriage? In this case, it's a reasonable compromise.
Of course she won't like it, but the flip side of this is she's unilaterally deciding that your sex life is over. That's not fair.
You're at an impasse, you want sex and you're not getting it from her. Your options couldn't be more clear. Take care of yourself from now on, come to an understanding, or divorce.

You aren’t selfish or wrong to want sex, but if she has had serious feminine problems then she may not be wrong to close up shop either

Sounds like this is the time of her "personal summer" as menopause hits. It's the natural course of things. Natural lubrication and elasticity are not what they once were so intimacy can become painful for her and lead to dreading those times resulting in a loss of libido for her.
Hormone therapy is an option, but there are possible side effects. I'm not a doctor so I can't really say what other options there may be. Undoubtedly there's plenty of shyte advice to be found here, but hopefully you and your wife will find an option or solution that works for you.

Sadly, too many women’s decisions are based on feelings. Lots of times I don’t feel like getting up and going to work, but I do, because that’s one of my responsibilities as a husband.
One of her responsibilities is taking care of her husband sexually.
