Let her speak?

We all joke about the need to control women all the time. But I think you might be serious. It’s a very douchey and arrogant mindset.

The reason she is going to a non-Christian counselor and didn’t tell you is because she knows she made a mistake marrying you. She is so filled with regret that she is looking for better coping skills.

You are the source of your wife’s trauma because you are an arrogant, self-righteous douche.

Sounds like maybe the OP needs private therapy.

I reckon they've had many discussions and he knows the issues.

Clearly the control idea isn't novel, hence the jokes that he should hit her, instead.

OP is making himself sound like the worst type of stereotype

So she and you are paying some poor bastard to hear her say the same shite repeatedly. Hopefully the therapist won't kill himself.

Of course I would. What??

Also, I don’t “let” my wife do anything. She is a grown adult. If she wants to see a therapist, I support her decision.

I would say she's working on the fact that her husband is paranoid and controlling.

Better get a lawyer baw.

If you’re been married over 10 years you know the issues because she’s already let you know a million times by this point.

I might be a little different than OP because I don’t know that I’d want my wife speaking my business within the congregation.

That's why an independent third party giving objective advice is better...for rational people.

I imagine his desire of using the congregation is meant to be a reinforcement tool for her submission. A control mechanism.

My wife does therapy via zoom every week. I encouraged her to go after the last year and some health events she has been battling.

My first guess if she isn’t talking about it with you or hasn’t even expressed it’s an interest of hers…it probably has something to do with you that she thinks you’d see as threatening or concerning.

Lawyer up.

I cannot imagine being married to someone who would feel they need to hide something like that. But if she did, it wouldn’t be some unforgivable act like cheating. They be going through some things sometimes. Look in the mirror on this one and sort yourself out on why she chose not to tell you.

i mean you are prolly heading for a divorce anyways at that point

but

your hope is she finds a good one....chances are slim....that actually tells her the truth...that you are not an a-hole...that she is the one being a bitch, she is the one with control issues so she feels like the mental load is on her, she doesnt appreciate you and that because she doesnt put out....she has no room to say shite

in the end, if you want to avoid divorce...better get her hormones check, would bet my paycheck she has low test

in the mean time...you better get your arse in shape, good chance you are on the dating market soon.
