Not triggered. It’s just amusing that it never fails....anytime I have flown out of BR the gate area resembles an LSU tailgate with the amount of LSU gear people insist on wearing to board a plane.

Can’t just wear a single item with LSU on it....no that won’t work cause how will all the people at your destination know you are from BR?

ETA: I am not the only person to have noticed and commented on this

What an awful experience and a sad airport to look at. But if you're just flying regional, seems alright.

Because if you have a delay or a maintenance issue you aren’t leaving until tomorrow.

Flew in and out of MSY around Thanksgiving. Zero issues. Security lines were low and fast. I found it to be a very normal, nice airport. The only “complaint” was that the rental car terminal is still on the other side of the airport and is about a 10 minute bus drive. That said, it wasn’t really an issue at all. Would fly there again.

New Orleans is usually cheaper and tends to have more options.

That said, when I come home I always try to go in and out of BR

Weekend travel Im normally not wearing work apparel so it's usually either a Pelicans/Saints/Tigers/SFGiants dry fit t-shirt, lululemon joggers, Airmax. Sometimes I add a Saints hoodie.

Zero fricks given

I only fly out of BR, but for some people, not having a layover is worth it. New Orleans flies direct to several places.

It isn't worth it for me personally (because the time you spend getting to New Orleans and through the airport is no better than what you'd spend laying over), but I see why people do it.

As some who flies out of both...all depends on the timing, destination, and cost.

Both have their benefits based on the situation.

I would hope you’re not wearing your Whataburger uniform to travel.

Flew out of Baton Rouge. Took me 6.5 minutes from getting out of my car to sit at my gate. Walked through security in less than 2 Minutes

Why do posters like yourself assume that most people on the OT, or on TD in general- live in the vicinity of Baton Rouge, LA? LSU is a national brand and, though the majority us have ties to Louisiana- i’d wager that most of us here dont live in the Greater BR area, so your original post makes zero sense.

BTR has direct to Charlotte? I didn’t even consider that, and I just got back from a trip there.

I used to travel for work about 40-50% of the time. It's worth it to drive an extra 30 minutes for a direct flight. You basically remove all risk of getting stuck in some airport all night. Otherwise, BTR is just so much easier to get in and out of.

I've just been lucky to not have those kinds of issues. I hate driving to New Orleans for whatever reason. When I travel for work, which is usually San Diego, I have to fly in the day before in order to make my Monday appointments anyway. So I just book an earlyish flight and spend the day there, and it gives wiggle room for delays.

But I see why people prefer MSY. I'd say the only thing that annoys me about BR people flying out of there are some of my friends who book it and then have to ask everyone they know for a ride to/from. Don't book a flight an hour away from town if you aren't willing to drive yourself.
