This shuts down anybody who gives a shite what other people do regarding the vaccine. It is absolutely absurd for anybody to judge or push somebody else to get a non-FDA approved substance injected into their body.

No it doesn’t. First of all, they are FDA approved.

Second, does this board really want to go down the road of the Biden Admin being the barometer of what works? We love government red tape now?

It wasn’t. In any way.

Don't get hysterical, Susan. I'm just trying to figure out what you meant. Your response seemed to be a non-sequitur.

Sure thing, have a good one.

I can't speak to all docs everywhere but none of the groups in my wife's hospitals had any pressure AFAIK, they did have nurses that haven't taken it and none were terminated. All the doctors did take the Phizer vaccine the first two days it was being administered except for one who was on vacation and got it the following week.

Some people are around others that are immune compromised or could get very sick if stricken with covid-19.

There is your reason.

Serious question here. If you are healthy, why would you?

Millions of people don't get the flu vax every year because they don't think it's a big deal due to the severity of the virus.

I know. It isn’t a priority to them. That’s fine.

But these people don’t go around asking other people why they are getting the flu shot and acting like they are crazy for getting the flu shot.

That’s my point.

I guarantee I can find all the old flu shot threads and the OPs justification will not be posted a single time. Why?

For me, it's because I had the flu about 20 years ago. I had always thought of the flu as a "bad cold". It was nothing of the sort. It was horrible. I generally get the flu vaccine now, because I figure if I can further reduce the risk of getting the flu again, that's a good thing.

It couldn't possibly be a defense mechanism due to the pressure suddenly being placed on everyone to immediately get this shot by people like you and others. Did you act this way for the flu shot? What purpose does your point serve if you have to be intentionally ignorant about everything?

So, so obtuse.

Will you be able to find the other common argument, "just get the flu shot so we can do stuff again?" derp, why is that?

The flu is exponentially more dangerous than Covid for young fit healthy individuals

Because that's how vaccinating works. No vaccine is 100%, so the more people vaccinated, the less virus is circulating through the population.

We owe it to our parents, grandparents and the immune-compromised to protect them, and we do that by getting vaccinated.

I will consider getting the vaccine once I'm convinced that 100% of the vulnerable population has received the vaccination and that includes all the minority population so at risk, as well as *ahem* "recent arrivals". Until then, I'm checking my privilege and deferring any advantage my whiteness offers and decline to get the vaccination in solidarity with those underserved and historically repressed communities.

I've never had the flu.

I suppose that once I get the flu I'll change my tune.
