SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Monkeypox is continuing to spread across several parts of the country, including northwest Louisiana. However, health officials say there are misconceptions circulating about the virus.

According to health officials, monkeypox is not a sexually transmitted disease (STD). It isn’t spread through sexual activity, but rather the close physical contact.

Yes its called anal sex, like 96% of cases, this shite is insane

quote:

Other people who can get it right now are the high risk people, like men having sex with men. Especially if they’ve had anonymous sex or multiple partners,

But it's not an STD!!! LINK

And who are these "health officials"

Can’t ostracize any groups

Be mindful of everyone’s feelings and perceptions

Unless of course you’re talking about unvaxxed white cis men then you can say whatever you want about them.

I guess by saying its a STD it implies it can only be caught through sex, but this can be caught by touching someone's skin who has it right?

The overwhelming majority of people contracting this are gay men. But sure, it’s not from buttfricking, it’s just that only gay men can get it from simply touching each other.

Monkeypox spreads in a few ways.

Monkeypox can spread to anyone through close, personal, often skin-to-skin contact, including:

Direct contact with monkeypox rash, scabs, or body fluids from a person with monkeypox.
Touching objects, fabrics (clothing, bedding, or towels), and surfaces that have been used by someone with monkeypox.
Contact with respiratory secretions.

This direct contact can happen during intimate contact, including:

Oral, anal, and vaginal sex or touching the genitals (penis, testicles, labia, and vagina) or anus (butthole) of a person with monkeypox.
Hugging, massage, and kissing.
Prolonged face-to-face contact.
Touching fabrics and objects during sex that were used by a person with monkeypox and that have not been disinfected, such as bedding, towels, fetish gear, and sex toys.
A pregnant person can spread the virus to their fetus through the placenta.

It’s also possible for people to get monkeypox from infected animals, either by being scratched or bitten by the animal or by preparing or eating meat or using products from an infected animal.

A person with monkeypox can spread it to others from the time symptoms start until the rash has fully healed and a fresh layer of skin has formed. The illness typically lasts 2-4 weeks.

That doesn’t make any sense.

I don’t know much about Monkey Pox, but can you catch it from just kissing or having oral sex?

Is the only way to contract Monkey Pox is by sexual/anal or vaginal intercourse?

Because accurately diagnosing and educating people on medical issues is now too triggering and unacceptable.

We’re living in some nightmare offspring of Idiocracy and 1984. It would make for a hell of a dark spoof comedy.

A ton of people got HIV from tainted blood transfusions and botched hospital shite. You can get it from blood to blood contact, lots of ways. Not just sex.

How do you think those people contracted the HIV? That blood was tainted somewhere

So because fractions of a percentage chance exists for a heterosexual person to get it without sexual contact, we have to act like it isn't almost exclusively a homo disease, transmitted by sex?
