Place old label on beer and sell. What's the issue.

What if there is no old label?

Sierra Nevada and Sam Adams aren’t craft beers.

How do you think they got started ? They were excellent craft beers and got so popular they went big time.

According to news reports, as I have noticed, the "shutdown" is only 15% of the government.

Yet they somehow still take taxes out of my paycheck.

True, but this is an alcoholic beverage. I'm sure there is some federal law that prohibits the use of a child's image for the marketing of alcoholic beverages.

Blanche du Bruxelles has a pissing toddler on its label.

ETA: A NAKED pissing toddler.

Can anyone expound upon this further?

It's a crapshoot to get labels approved.

Isn't the problem that they have to go to the federal government in the first place?

That is a cartoon rendition of a famous statue in Belgium.

One good thing about the shutdown is it highlights all of the dumb shite the federal government has their hands in.

For years, one man has approved virtually every beer label design in the United States. Among brewers, he’s a tyrant. A legend.

Almost every brewer of a certain size has a story about Battle Martin’s unforgiving penchant for denying beer labels, even when it goes against common sense.

“He’s just amazingly finicky on stupid things that don’t really achieve any government purpose,” said one brewer.

I can't say I've noticed one thing in my day to day life that has changed. Also, all of the bitching about paychecks before today has been invalid. Today is the first paycheck they've missed. I saw stories last week about people running out of life savings. . . before their next scheduled paycheck was set to hit their account. Doh!

Oh, and they haven't affected the sale of grain, hops and yeast to home brewers so I am brewing a new recipe this weekend. Hope they don't shut me down.
