The US government owes the black belt region financial help. I don't care what you call it. They shipped African slaves here. Inplemented federal laws to allow slavery. Utilized the goods it produced. Then they basically quarantined the area and hoped it would go away. Instead of fighting wars in the middle east, we should be helping these people intergrate into society. It would help the country as a whole.

I smell bullshite and an attempt to paint them as blameless victims.

My basic guess to his point it people that are poor are generally less intelligent. So when they have kids, due to genetics they in general will also tend to be dumb in comparison to parents that are intelligent.

Ah. I dunno. Seems like history is replete with thinking that one group of people or another is less intelligent only for that group to advance over time. The Romans thought the Germanic people were barbarians and primitives that were a rung below them. Now, I'd say the Germans have pretty much shown that they are not those things. Same with the English and the Scots, Japanese with the Koreans, Westerners with Asians, etc. etc. Heck, the whole aspect of feudalism was that there was a natural aristocratic class and a natural "common" class. I don't think those divisions have held up over time.

There have been plenty of poor people who have proven very intelligent and successful, going on to become wealthy and accomplished.

So, your suggestion is to throw more money at the problem without addressing the cause, which is a complete lack of individual accountability.

Like providing training? Relocation opportunities? You republicans are good with spending trillions on war, but are completely against investing internally. I can't grasp the ignorance.

Many of the parents and relatives didn't complete school so children don't have good role models or encouragers.

This is a complete load of BS. I work with poor and uneducated, and I can tell you no one cares about where their next meal is coming from. If you are hungry in America today you made a lot of choices to get there.

I know more poor who worry about how they are buying their next smart smart phone than food. SOOOO many churches give out free food, plus food stamps, plus Section 8 housing, plus cash under the table jobs makes it extremely easy to have a roof and food.

The fact is our welfare programs have made a certain percentage of our society that is both white and black expect to not have to do anything but get handouts. That includes not forcing their kids to get an education. That's the only issue with our schools.

Poor people have access to education and training and it doesn't cost a thing.

I have to agree that he's trolling because what he's suggesting is blatantly stupid.

You're either a great troll, or one of the stupidest goddamn people on this forum.

He's not talking about groups. Regardless of race, people with low intelligence who reproduce together tend to have low intelligence offspring. Low intelligence frequently leads to poverty.

Most teachers do not teach because of the money. They are dedicated professionals who give their best because they love children and want to make a positive difference in their lives. They would do the best they could for the kids, regardless of the money.

How do we know he wasn't? There is so much code talk that goes on on these boards that it's hard to tell a lot of times. Besides, it just seems kind of an ultra shallow assessment to say that people with low intelligence always, or even usually have low intelligence kids. So much variation goes into genetics that I don't know if a one generation comparisons like that can be made.

Nobody said "always." "Usually" is fair despite that offending some. It's just the way it is.

Yea and lots of things that "are just the way it is" are not accepted so don't be surprised you get objection to your comment. Fact is everyone has the same opportunity to work their arse off to get an education and make a nice life for themselves. For many, it's just easier to blame everyone else rather than working hard and making sacrifices. Nobody gives most us a damn thing. Lots of us live pretty comfortably bc we went to school by choice and worked our asses off bc we saw it as an opportunity to make a better life. We didn't do those things bc we had some inherent advantage or any other left wing victim mentality bullshite.

I don't think the schools are failing other than lowering the standards when kids can't compete. It's the participation trophy shite that sets kids up with entitlement and a poor work ethic. Real life doesn't work that way. People see that and then holler that it's unjust or racist or whatever. Get off your arse and work for nice things.

Thanks and saban is a prick. End of rant

Can you expound on this? I'm curious to hear your thinking on it.

Intelligence is a heritable trait. You can’t judge schools against one another without controlling for the innate intellectual capabilities of the students.

Low income white trash are just as guilty at not supporting education. This is a socioeconomic issue independent of race.
