Why isn’t the Super Bowl on Saturday?

Is there an advantage to having it on Sunday ratings wise? I wouldn’t think so. I would much rather recoup on Sunday. The Monday’s after are awful

Especially having it late in the day on Sunday is terrible. If it was at 2pm it would be much better

Because the host city and NFL make more money by stretching it out and having it on Sunday.
If they had it on Saturday everyone would go home on Sunday.

I assume it probably has something to do with more people being at home on Sunday night than Saturday. How many hit shows do you know air on Saturday night?

Professional football is played on sundays, I wouldn't mind if it was moved back a couple hours since it should be played at a reasonable time like 5 PM EST.

Same thing with the college natty.
You fly in on Thursday or Friday, stay the weekend, game on Monday night, fly out Tuesday morning. Theres a ton of money to be made the days leading up to a big game like the Super Bowl and college Natty.

Because Super Bowl Saturday doesn’t quite roll off the tongue as good. That’s honestly the only reason. That’s it.
