If limiting government is the primary concern of a conservative, then Noah Rothman isn't one. Neoconservatism has absolutely nothing to do with limiting government. They hated Pat Buchanan and Ron Paul even more than Trump. Hell, they require an even larger government than regular Democrats. They want war all the time and everywhere. Whichever of the two parties is more willing to abide by that creed is who they support.

While that is great, he also said yesterday we are at least a year away from having a vaccine for it, so that doesn't really do much for the here and now. Great news for the future, and hats off to those developing it though.

Full boar blame of Trump alone for limited early testing access, very reserved golf clap with heavy qualifications for "those unknowns working on it."

In the mean time, limit travel into the country (check)
Mandated quarantine for those known to be infected (check)
Continue push to increase testing availability, including emergency funds earmarked for this (check)
Financial relief to those infected (check)
Constant guidance for hygiene and voluntary isolation (check)

I can't remember the complaint. Is it because he didn't start this the first time we heard China was faking containment of a regionalized virus outbreak?

The media is as much the blame as anyone. They’ve sensationalized the virus instead of calming everyone. Now do we take there word when the crisis is over . BS
You have any idea where to get information that doesn’t come from Trump’s unintelligible remarks?

The second one just estates what we've all agreed. There should be more testing. Ok the third oe is the same. Read 4th still the same. And the 5th adds nothing new Just establishing what we already know. There aren't enough tests. The most plausible reason tends to be pointed to as FDA bureaucracy. Is this the point where Democrats pretend that FDA Bureaucracy isn't overwhelmingly their creation. Donald Trump created FDA Bureaucracy. G

Who can cut FDA bureaucracy? Who appointed the FDA director? Who appointed the CDC director? Why can't we use the same test as everyone else? Who exactly is in charge of the country? Why has our testing capacity been shite despite Trump saying how anyone can get tested and its amazing?

Oh thats right, anything wrong with the US Coronavirus response - it's just a flu, not Trump's fault because "Orange Man GOD"?

ORANGE MAN NEVER MAKE MISTAKE

People are so blinded by political affiliation today that they cannot face reality. It's sad.

At least think outside of Twitter, which I assume is where you got the data about the US rate of infection being on par with that of Italy.

Look I’ve forgotten more about Conservatism than you know. I simply explained that he is a vocal Neoconservative critic of our unusually boyishly handsome GEOTUS. He is from a segment of the Party that Trump has decimated. He wants the President to fail. That’s not exactly a True Scotsman Fallacy unless, like all other things you have redefined it.

You are a whiny TDS Narrative in search of some supporting facts. And you have whiffed again.

Prove to us that any shortage in test kits/ or lack of testing is SPECIFICALLY and FACTUALLY traceable back to the actions of our Historically First Orange President. I’ll wait.

Well how many federal elected republicans can fit into the “limited government” camp?

Rand Paul is about it. But neocons dwarf even Democrats in their zeal for big government. It's an ideology that stems from Trotskyism in 1940's NYC.

Maybe. Testing needs to increase, that's obvious. Testing alone doesn't prevent or cure infection, and the admin has been doing things on that side since that racist travel ban over a month ago.

The travel ban was a great start, but we didn't build on that. We should have implemented widespread testing immediately and isolated the infected. Then done contact tracing for all infected. We should have had more thorough screenings at airports. It is not a sin to admit our response has underwhelmed. We can all admit that the lack of testing combined with no justification or transparent response for that lack of testing is a bad thing.

I only have 2 complaints.

1. The dishonesty from Trump and his boot lickers the past few weeks. From saying it was contained(it wasn't) to saying test kits were available(they weren't). Then you have Hannity, Limbaugh, et al., spreading BS that the whole thing is an election year hoax to bring Trump down. Even yesterday Hannity was making that claim, only to hours later praise Trump's message last night. Why would you praise an address that aims to tackle an issue if it's just a hoax?

2. Still no explanation(that I've seen) from anyone why we didn't use the test kits available from the WHO, and instead chose to develop our own. Perhaps there's a justifiable reason. I think we're owed that explanation if so.

That said, I also think it's fair to criticize the media's sensationalizing the story. While they've broken and reported a LOT of important info, they've also fueled some of the mass hysteria.

Then what you are arguing isn’t about “what conservatism is.” You are arguing about “what is Trumpism, who is on the team, and who is not.” That’s it, the distilled tribalism of the Grievance Party” and it’s exalted leader.

That's because reasonable minds know that number is probably 10x that. At least.

I agree. If America tanks, mass death and financial ruin occurs, it will be a great Victory for Democrats.
