Back in the day you had sports you played on horseback and sports you played on foot. The English usually called all sports played on foot some version of football (association football, rugby football, etc.) soccer is short for “association” and was actually what they called it until like the 40s. “Football” being the term used for soccer is fairly new.

There's no damn Tureaud or Lockett trees, either, for that matter.

If assholes could fly, this place would be one hell of an airport.

Why does a brown cow eat green grass and produce white milk? This is the dilemma that will occupy this thread, this panel, and this message board as a whole, long after you leave this room.

Why is it a hot water heater?

Here may be your answer. The Enchanted Forest has quite a few spruce pines among its foliage.

LSU could have named it Oak Hall, Cedar Hall, Magnolia Hall, or any number of other worthy names.

Good idea. Must be why Cedar Hall is literally next door to it. I assume they just liked the name and already had started with Cypress to the South.

Of course there are no buildings on LSU's current campus built before the 1920s, unless you count the Indian Mounds, which some say may be the oldest man made structures on the entire continent.

“The hall was later named "Spruce Hall" in 1954”

.. three new residence halls were built down around Kirby.. first was cypress .. the other two took tree names.. … they are very nice residence halls

They then took down Kirby.. and then built another very nice hall over where the green houses were.. called magnolia.. they were slated to take down the old dorms on the lake and redo them.. but I heard some idiots convinced them to go out and build some new one in the beautiful peaceful area around Taylor’s hall to enjoy looking at black asphalt and listening to the ambience of Burbank.
