We'll all be eating bugs in 20 years.

This makes me miss working in meat market at WD in college. Needless to say, my roommate and me ate filets every single day.

There are a lot more weenie vegans these days competing with cattle for food. It's now more expensive to feed cattle since their food has become more scarce thanks to vegans. Since the cost of feeding cattle has increased, the market price has had to increase as well.
Not only the vegans, our stupid selves also commit several million acres of feed lands to grow corn for ethanol mandates.
It maybe time to introduce a new meat to market. Solent Green, where we eat our own. Just 2.99 a pound.

I beg to differ. If we actually tried to treat Covid patients more aggressively when they first showed signs of illness and there wasn’t a government funded and controlled effort to limit treatments, we’d have less deaths as is evidenced by those physicians who did just that and had a lower mortality rate among those they treated.
But that would include the used of “the horse wormer form Tractor Supply” and would undermine the global effort to force vaccinations on everyone and cut into the record profits of a handful of pharmaceutical companies and their investors.

If you are in the BR area, Save A Lot grocery store has t-bones for $3.99 a lb., in the family pack. That is cheap enough to pack the freezer.
ETA: This price went into effect last Wed., and is good through tomorrow.

Select is trash.
Steak has gotten expensive, but we are talking about a decent 16 oz. (which is plenty big enough) ribeye costing around $22. Yes, that is more than it was, but if it is too expensive buy a sirloin.
Choice filet at fresh market went from $19.99/lb to $29.99/lb in less than a year.

Bought filets two weeks ago at Costco for 17.99/lb. On Friday I paid 22.99/lb at Costco. Insane inflation. Biden is Carter 2.0 on steroids. Give me mean tweets and my purchasing power back.

"Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry will hold a hearing on transparency and pricing in the cattle market. The hearing follows numerous lawsuits filed in recent years by grocery chains, ranchers and others that claim the meatpackers have colluded to increase the price of beef by limiting supply"
"They point a finger at the Big Four companies, which account for more than 80 percent of the processed beef sold in the United States: Cargill, JBS, Tyson Foods and National Beef."

I bought a few ribeyes after the hurricane and didn’t notice much of a price difference. You talking the last couple weeks or something?

It’s 17.95 here, but with my discount card at Winn Dixie it was about 10 for a ribeye yesterday.
