I'm not worried about it, just questioning the stupidity of it.

But again, you're so insecure, that you are lashing out because I apparently hit way too close to home. Don't worry baw, I'm not taking away your diet soda, just laughing at you.

I actually like carbonated water and it gives me the fix that a diet drink would

Same here. I woke up thirsty and I'm drinking one now.
I buy the lemon lime flavor ones. Tastes like a Sprite with no sweetener of any kind and it's really good.
I've tried the orange flavor ones and like those too.
Ingredients are carbonated water, natural flavor.
Zero calories, zero carbs, zero sodium zero anything.
I have wondered what one might taste like with natural cola flavoring and none of the sweeteners or sodium or caffeine. I bet it would be pretty good.

This is totally false.

One has 40 grams of sugar, the other has zero.

As far as the aspartame, you'd have to drink about 15-20 cans a day for 20+ years to have any adverse affects.

I usually drink 1-2 a day because it is zero calories and the carbonation makes me feel full when I'm cutting and eating lower calories

It will not. Diet soda reduces sugar intake, but is linked to weight gain and metabolic disorders when consumed regularly. In quantity, daily users may beome addicted. Diet soda lacks any essential nutrients whatsoever, can impact on gut health and potentially poses diabetes risk. Aspartame is a common artificial sweetener in diet soda, which breaks down into methanol and formaldehyde, substances linked to cancer risk. Use has likewise been associated with cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, even dementia.

Put the damn things down.

I quit drinking soda for lent in 2023 - doc said i needed to drop it after having a kidney cut out the year prior. You'd be amazed how less bloated and gassy that stuff makes you. I drink water, unsweet tea, and coffee now and feel so much better without all the chemicals.

In HS I had a friend who was diabetic and he always had Diet Dr Pepper in a cooler in his truck. I had a tendency to bum some from him and I found I liked the taste better than regular cokes- not as sweet. That’s how I got started with diet drinks.

The worst diet drink I’ve tasted was/is Diet Rite. It was like a watered down Diet Coke.

Link to studies.

Otherwise quit spreading misinformation.

If the choice is either a soda with sugar or a diet soda, then the diet soda is better. A glass of water with a few squeezes of lemon or lime is better than either though. Artificial sweeteners are associated with an increased risk of metabolic syndrome since they can alter glucose homeostasis and the gut microbiome.

I just drink coffee for my fix. Black with no creamer or sugar.

Sure soda tastes good but making it a habit daily can cause issues down the road

Diet Dr Pepper and Diet Sprite are not bad at all. However, I only drink one on the weekends. Never during the week. A case from Sams might last me two to three months.
