I'm not worried about weight loss, and I don't drink them that often, but sometimes I want a soda, like today, at the movie theater. I'll have a Coke Zero. I don't think they're good for me, but don't feel like having 100 grams of sugar in a single sitting either.

This is normal behavior.

But there are people that "need" a Diet Coke everyday. I don't get that.

What's funny is unless you drink it very soon after bottling the sucrose will have been hydrolyzed into its fructose and glucose monomers. It is mainly confirmation bias and little bit of the extra sodium.

I did a blind taste test a few years ago and got it right. I don’t know if it was the bottle, consistency or what, but it’s a noticeably different taste.

You struck a nerve. He’s going to need an extra diet soda tonight to cope with your thread.

I love a Coke Zero. Settles my stomach. I drink 2/3 a week . It has nothing to do with sugar, it has to do with carbonation for me.

Even worse is the decaffeinated cokes. I assume that still a thing, but that was the only thing one of my aunts kept in her house and we would go over there she would serve that to drink and it was not good at all.

And I agree diet coke or any other soda sucks. With that said, I do like a coke. Coke is my coffee. Well, I don't need to drink it to get my day started or anything and I can go throughout the day without drinking it, but I like a coke. And there is a Mexican place near me know. Its a small food truck like setup that sells tacos and a few other items.. And you get your drink while in line to order, there is an ice chest with drinks in it.. And they have Mexican coke, with is really good. Mexican coke is made with cane sugar.

But yeah, diet soda sucks.

Twice the sodium is one thing that makes a difference, the cane sugar can't after it is bottled for a few days. It is a different formula but they could replace the cane sugar with the correct amount of HFCS and you wouldn't be able to taste the difference.

At some point everything is bad for you. Nothing wrong with a diet soda in your diet.

Fact: diet sodas are not making you fat.
