Never seen this. It's standard outdoor gear here.

Carhartt has been popular in street wear and hip hop for decades. Nothing new at all.

Because the carhartt people like money. Good for them.

Go to Korea, all the younger people there are wearing it.

They have become affiliated with 47brand which isn't really a "Hipsters & Slim Shady types".

LINK

They might offer different styles, but that is called "expanding a customer base". That happens when a company is looking to make more money.

So you are saying they are marketing to these two groups?

check out Round House. Made in USA, way cheaper than Carhartt but similar quality. Only thing is they don't have FR stuff.

Assuming you are referring to their WIP line. They have a store in Soho, but seems prices for this line are about 3x the regular line.

Why? Because why not? If you are able to keep your core brand as well as make more money / broaden the appeal through a fashion line, why wouldn’t you do it.

Not everyone works in plants. When I worked at a nursery and did landscaping I wore stuff like this. Tradesmen, farmers, ranchers, and similar people wear this stuff too you know?

Thought of the nickel defense from We Are Marshall when Jack is talking with Red on his shed roof.
"1x6s, huh? Same coverage; less boards."
