Cause we are now used to paying more for goods and services.

I dont really shop for diesel TBH I just stop wherever whenever I need it. I'm getting 25mpg in my new AT4 so I havent really had to fill up that much lately.

Gotta keep that diesel up so we can have $6 bag of Doritos.

Explain truck stops then?
Cheapest diesel I've seen is 4.88 in Idaho.

Someone explain it to me like I am 5 Diesel was around $1.40 more per gallon when I looked yesterday. Prices are dropping way slower than gas prices. Why?
Diesel demand never went down since 2020
Gas demand this summer was lower than 2021
Refining Capacity took a hit at the end of 2019 when shipping boats had to convert to low sulfur diesel and the plants had to adjust

Ignorance on another level here.
So you suppose the fueling stations figured that our before they buried fuel storage tanks for their pumps, and MAYBE they only have one smaller underground diesel tank?
Diesel prices are high to affect transportation of goods. Manufactured inflation trickle-down effect.

They are different products whos price is part of a different supply-demand curves.

Impossible ask.
Five year-olds have no ability to grasp the concept of modern economics with specific regard to commodity markets affected by supply and demand, a cartel, and a moronic assclownery of a US Federal Government.

They rise together nearly in unison. Seems like they should drop together the same.
quote:I think that the typical causes of supply shortages tend to impact gas and diesel supplies roughly the same (so prices go up together), but the demand for gas is more elastic than the demand for diesel (so prices for gas come down faster). Basically we can skip the road trip but trucks have to keep moving.
I am not suggesting anything. I genuinely don't understand it. Is it a production issue? Is demand for diesel higher than gas currently?

Oh look, it's a smug moron(and most likely broke) that doesn't even realize that diesel prices affect the price of everything.

Always love these thanks for the laugh.

Hasn't it always been this way?
No. The entire reason that a market for diesel cars and trucks was created in the late 70s was because diesel was a cheaper option that regular and unleaded gas. It's cheaper to refine, so it'd be great for someone to explain why it's more expensive.
Posted on 9/4/22 at 11:52 am to stout
Diesel has been more costly for some time now, Mr Anderson
Posted on 9/4/22 at 11:53 am to Tempratt
Diesel isn't real, just like birds.

I agree. I’m all for brevity and getting straight to the point but simple minds want simple answers and in this case it cannot be done. And he is obviously poor so that compounds it.
