I have no idea what either response is trying to insinuate. You asked about Afghanistan and the Middle East which really isn't at all similar to Africa and are you disagreeing that democracy is worse than a monarchy or autocratic regime?

This looks like a familiar thread

Their problems are all centered around ancient tribal conflicts.

Democracy is an infinitely better system, but the American and European system of sudden invasion and implementation and quick exit has quite clearly been a failure.

Well that's not what I was talking about and if you had any ability to comprehend what you read you'd know that.
But to answer your question, in much of Africa there was certainly a quick and disorderly exit of newly created countries that led to inevitable instability

You aren't stringing together coherent thoughts

You mean going back to the civilized disorder that was present in their absence?

No I don't mean that at all. Maybe you should open a book.

You should start reading the dictionary you use as a booster seat

quote:The European "exit" was anything but quick and disorganized. Most African countries that were colonized by Europeans didn't gain true "independence" until the mid 20th century after decades long transition periods. Many of those countries are still to this day having their handheld by their former European coloninizers.

I don't think you know what you're arguing, chief.

Why was Africa so poorly developed that Europeans could so easily colonize it in the first place?

I'm not ignorant on it at all. I just don't agree with you. It's a very very complicated issue that spans several decades to even centuries that you want to boil down to if the white man would have gotten their way everything would be peaches and cream.

You might want to look into how easy it was for them.

Africa was a hell of a lot more civilized than the rest of the world a few centuries ago.
My goodness. Are you also one of those loons who think every major historical person, from Moses to Mozart, was black?

Well, there’s the Jared Diamond theory of
Which basically lays it at the feet of location and lack of domesticateable animals.
But personally I think it is an endemic state of the people and culture.
Look at Rhodesia.
They are still stuck in the warlord level of mentality. Easily swayed by strongmen and corrupt leaders. Highly superstitious. Very collective, to a fault.
It’s a fascinating Subject if you can get past the
Aspect and look at the situation from a detached, subjective viewpoint
