Their life sucks compared to yours. It's better than it would have been without colonization. It's not really debatable.

Because the west completely fricked Africa in the 20th century. Now it's mostly poor war torn countries that experience a coup every 5 years

If you don't know what the frick you're talking about then sure, it's debatable.

The simple fact is that there was constant political unrest and war before colonization. It was just as if not more brutal than it is today. Now there is political unrest and war but people have access to schools and hospitals and communication with the entire planet. So yeah, it's better.

Angola & Luanda had the greatest potential to get into modern times about 10 or so years ago with the oil boom there. President and daughter took the money and ran.

Seems the main problem and why they're stuck is unstable govt and corruption. All Aid and resources seem to be funneled to the elite.

Tribal squabbling is not the same as total civil war. There's no point in even engaging with you. You've decided white man tried to save the black man but the black man doesn't want saving.

You’re exactly right. But because I can go to the grocery store and not have to wonder if there will be any food or milk, I can flip my lights on in my house and not wonder if they’ll come on or not. I can go to the doctor when I’m ill or injured and have too fricking notch care to get me back to health relatively quick. I can drive my car three or four miles to work and not have to walk, I can be out in public and not wonder if I’ll be shot for practicing the wrong religion or standing the wrong way or saying the wrong thing. I can be not among the richest of society and can still live incredibly comfortable.

We live...in this country and our brethren in Europe, unlike any other people have lived in the entire history of the world. My life is certainly better than what’s going on in Africa right now.

I found a really interesting article about the colonization of India by the Brits and how it set back their development significantly. It’s not Africa but same idea.

LINK

Drawing on nearly two centuries of detailed data on tax and trade, Patnaik calculated that Britain drained a total of nearly $45 trillion from India during the period 1765 to 1938.

It's a staggering sum. For perspective, $45 trillion is 17 times more than the total annual gross domestic product of the United Kingdom today

I don't believe one word of that. Those people were burying widows alive and speaking hundreds of different languages when the British arrived.

The Indians have been able to parlay the modicum of civilization and English language education that the British forced upon them into hard currency-generating careers in engineering and medicine all over the world. They'd be lost without that.

Link to where I even alluded to that?

Listen sport... I know you think you know about Africa because you watched a Vice documentary and maybe read some long winded piece in Esquire or some other queer shite and that you think you're special because you managed to make it out of whatever shite town you're from and move to the super metropolitan city of Dallas. But you really don't know dick.

That Chinese construction is pretty bad too. They will be repairing and rebuilding in a couple of years.
