Why don't more people use paper plates and plastic utensils?

Going through the gauntlet of having young kids and family over frequently, just seems like it's much easier to throw plates and utensils in the trash rather than having to go through the time to wash them in the dishwasher, unload them, etc. I get that on the margin it may be bad for the environment and not look "classy", but besides that why shouldn't people use paper plates and plastic utensils? Once you allocate the cost of your time, it's easily a cheaper option.

Not may. It would be very bad for the environment. That's a lot of plastic.

A dishwasher requires almost no active time. This is a new level of trashy that is fitting for someone with the name

Just get a wife. I've got 0 wasted energy on dishwashing AND I have nice real plates and silverware.

It's like the stereotype just writes itself.... Go figure the resident Klan member has looked at all his flatware options had has concluded paper and plastic is preferred.

I think there's a legit argument for this. Less water and energy usage when you throw them away versus wash them, etc.

Paper plates, absolutely. Utensils, not so much.

Oh boy.

According to the New York City Department of Sanitation, paper plates generally decompose in five years.

Single-use utensils can take up to 1,000 years to decompose. Most plastic utensils are made of polystyrene, which can release toxic chemicals when heated.

Let the hate flow. I'm sure you hate Trump too for his "hateful" rhetoric, yet even Trump would never say some of the vitriolic things you spew on here.
