I recycle my dishes, silverware, and cooking utensils by washing and reusing them. It's much more environmentally friendly to do this rather than clogging the landfills with paper and plastic.

Single-use utensils can take up to 1,000 years to decompose. Most plastic utensils are made of polystyrene, which can release toxic chemicals when heated.

Can someone tell me why this is a bad thing?

What was it before we formed it into the shape of a fork? Where did we get it and what was it doing?

Mine is probably pretty big. I don't even recycle.

Not even close. My dishwasher holds 30 plates and 60 utensils.

I use to use red Dixie cups.
Now a mason jar is my thang.

They're using plenty of electricity at the factory that makes those plates and utensils......

We use paper and plastic all the time.
I care more about my sanity than I do the environmental impact on my great great great grandkids.

Paper and plastic are flimsy compared to stone and steel. Do you really want to eat a steak with a plastic knife and fork on a paper plate? They don't work worth a shite.

It’s really not bad for the environment, that’s just a myth. Use as many paper and plastic utensils as you want .

Two young kids so we go through a ton of paper plates, but use real utensils. The paper plates generally go into the compost bin and are dirt again soon enough.

Are we to believe that using paper plates would free you to bill that time out to someone who would pay you if said time were not otherwise used to wash dishes. Further, are we to believe that this "I can bill my time out whenever I wish" rate is high enough to make a difference?

The fry station doesn't work like that.
