Men want children, and the nuclear family is the best structure for raising children

Feminism has done its best to kill the N.F., but it struggles on.

Some men (Lindbergh, G. Gordon Liddy) have admitted to using genetic criteria in choosing a wife. Many men may agree but few are willing to admit it publicly.

At the very least there should be a prenup, but some say it takes the "romance" out of the marriage. But since a marriage is partly a financial arrangement, I don't see how planning for various scenarios is wrong. Is it negative thinking to make out a will?

I should’ve seen the horrors of marriage right in front of my stupid face when I was a kid but ended up doing it anyway.

and if women want custody they will get it (unless they are druggies etc).

Is this true? Asking for a friend.

My mom did. Sort of.

She sat me down and asked me if I was sure if I was sure if I was sure that I wanted to get married. She asked if I had even an inkling of doubt than I shouldn't proceed with this.

She told me to make sure that I was getting married because this is what I wanted to do, and not just because someone told me to, or to try and prove a point.

Of course, she said if I was sure, then she supports my decision 100% and she will love my wife the same as her other kids.

I appreciate my mom having that conversation with me. If my dad was still here, he likely would have been to have that Convo with me. In any case, 3+ years in being married and I have zero regrets. I wouldn't change a thing.

Everyone uses genetic criteria whether they admit it or not.

Because they are selfish and want grandkids! And so their friends won’t think their son is gay.

Yeah… vast majority of parents only discuss drugs and alcohol, and most do it poorly.

If parents discussed financial issues with kids we would not have the student loan issues we do

Planning an exit strategy while going into a marriage is not necessarily the same as a planning your will.

For many that ascribe to certain religions, breaking the marriage covenant is a sin. It's not a sin to die, but some see divorce as exactly that.

Oh - and this thread reminded me of the sig quote:

"A man with a hard D will go places a man with a loaded gun wouldn't."

This could be applied to marriage for some, as well.

When I discussed the benefits of a prenup prior to his marriage, my son said he had already signed one. Smart boy!

When a man loves a woman, she can do no wrong.

Seriously, anyone ever heard of a dude smitten that walked away after someone advised him not to? I'm not talking about a she-cheated bombshell; just a general "hey this could end badly" and the guy said "you're right, this pussy ain't worth it". Because I have never heard of that happening.
