I would add it also seems like Nazi Germany overshadows any discussion over the Pacific campaign too, which should be odd for us here in the US.

I agree with this so much. I honestly think it’s because the nazis were so evil that it draws people to look at it in awe of what they did. But when you look at a simple grunt in the German army they were just normal guys thrown into a abnormal situation. Guys we would drink beer with if there was no war. I always remember the scene in Band of Brothers when Malarkey walks by and says something to the German POWs. And one of them responds in English that he’s from the same state but was called back to fight for Germany. And don’t get me wrong the Japanese did some evil shite also. I just think we can relate to the Germans differently cause we are so similar.
Or the scene at the Battle of the Bulge when they are singing Christmas carols. It’s like we could have both put our guns down and walked to the nearest bar.

WWI: Germans defeat Russia, but can’t beat France
WW2: Germans defeat France, but can’t beat Russia.

WW1 was fought on horseback and trenches that only moved yards in years.

In 1914, maybe. By 1918, modernization was epic.

Things that were turned into weapons of war in WWI:

Tanks
Fighter and Bomber aircraft
Gas as a weapon
Automatic weapons
Modern Naval craft
Flamethrowers
Stokes mortars
Long range artillery
Submarines
Depth Charges...

Why? They are both an ocean away, and Germany was far more powerful than Japan. What’s more, Germany had Italy as an ally (I know, I know)

I could do without a dictator. You would have had to learn to salute and say “Hail Hitler” or whoever his successor was.

Probably.

I still kind of hate them pushing Marx on the Russians though. It was a terrible virus that should have been destroyed.

These photos are allegedly of General Eisenhower touring a concentration camp at wars end. They're mild compared to many others far more gruesome taken to document the alleged genocide.

Apparently, General and later President Eisenhower and those in his command believed the genocide actually occurred. What's more, they and others documented thousands of examples, including confessions from the Germans who carried it out.

Allegedly.

The Kaiser was not a megalomaniac.

He wasn't all that different than most of the other European leaders and wasn't all that gung-ho to get into a war in the first place.

What do you mean why? The Japs attacked us. The Pacific War was by an large our show. Not to mention the hellish conditions thaylt our POWs endured under the Japs which by all accounts were worse than the Nazi camps. Plus the nuclear bomb.

WW1 is arguably more impactful than the end of WW2 in the sense that it set in motion the dissection of the middle east, setting up conflict between Jews and Muslims for the next 100 years, the creation of Saudi Arabia, Israel, Iran, etc.

Theres a solid argument that had the Ottoman empire not collapsed 9/11 nor any of the conflicts in the middle east happen.
