You could try to suggest a sizable tip for if they get it to you sooner

Pizza’s the most overrated bland rubber like food out there. Unless it’s fresh, still sizzling thin crust New York style

It's ok, not "very good" by any stretch. You can pick up a slightly better pizza at dominoes for a dollar more with three toppings.

I spruce it up a little more at the house, but I prefer it over domino's/Pizza Hut/Papa John's.

Cheap pizza is one of those things where people swear one place is infinitely better than the other, but it's mostly hyperbole.

Dominos delivers in around 22 minutes to my house. PJ around 30. And that’s ordering a couple of pizzas and some bread each time. Maybe the drivers know I tip well. Stephen from Dominos is usually the one to bring it.

When I was 18 I delivered pizzas for awhile. Sometimes if it was really busy they'd send us out with like 4 orders. 3 out those 4 are not getting their pizza in 30 minutes.

it takes an average of 5 minutes to lay it out and add the toppings, then 15 minutes to cook, another 5 to take it out, cut it and box it, thats 25 minutes right there.

From my last Domino's online order confirmation email

Carryout Time: Approximately 9-19 minutes

Used to deliver in college for 2 semesters. An ok gig, pay wasn't great by any means. But the best part was taking home free pizza if the cool manager was on shift that night.

To answer OP question, you're not the only one ordering. Simple as that. If you call during a busy time such as Friday/Saturday night, then there are too many orders to keep up with. The goal is to have the pizza finished and boxed up within 15 minutes. During busy times, that never happens. Not to mention even with 4 drivers out on the road taking deliveries. There may still be about 5 orders just waiting in the store to be delivered.

Long story short, if you are hungry and want your pizza fast, get yo lazy behind up and go pick it up. I promise you, you may very well be back home by the time the driver would have ever made it to you.

Probably because you are not the only person ordering pizza.

Let's say 4 people call in an order within 5 mins. The first order was called in at 7PM. The next 7:01PM. Then the third at 7:02PM and the last one at 7:05PM.

They would need to have 4 drivers available, as soon as the pizzas are ready, in order to deliver a pizza at 7:30PM, 7:31PM, 7:32PM and 7:35PM.

Fwiw, the Walmart brand pizza that you bake at home is very good and very cheap.

The fresh ones by produce? Yep, only take and bake pizza worth a damn. Puts the name brand frozen ones to shame.

I'm glad you said Giordano's. I prefer normal pizzz quite a bit more but when it comes to Chicago pizza, I put Pequot and Giordanos at top. Lou's is fine but I am not a big fan of the crust. But everyone loves Lou's and I'm sick of always hearing about it

That's how I feel about Pequod's. Of my group of buddies that I grew up with, only one of them thinks it's great.

This. I don't get the "love" for pizza. It's something to eat. It's bread, tomato sauce and cheese with toppings of your liking, on top of it.

It seems like when people are asked their favorite food, pizza is a common answer..

I will say this, I ate my first deep dish pizza a few weeks ago and I thought it was better than pizza prepared any other way.

It's a good pizza imo, and damn good for the price. I throw some pepperoni and mozerella on it when I get home to even out the bare spots, but it's the best pizza you can buy in the store IMO.

With no due respect, just order and go pick it up if you cannot wait. Take an uber if you are shitfaced. Or perhaps, just plan ahead and get a Digiorno.

Funny how OT's seem to think that pizza delivery = fatass.
