Believe it or not, some people just dont give that much of a frick about coffee, hell half the people that drink it don't even like it, they just do it for the caffeine, point a to point b as quickly as possible..welcome to k cups
The OP's point is that people like this are kind of sad. Why deprive yourself?

Unless you have experienced a half naked native Columbian woman roasting beans then grinding them for a morning coffee after a vigorous evening in Columbia, does it even matter after that?
The secret to the best coffee is roasting and grinding and serving as close to the source as possible.

That is exactly what I was going to say. The longer the grind is on the shelf, the more rancid it gets. I grind my beans every morning, too. My kitchen is far enough away from the bedrooms not to bother anyone, and it only takes an extra 15 seconds. Once you get used to fresh ground coffee, the terrible taste of pre-ground becomes apparent.

I prefer sirloin to ribeye. Come at me bro.

I will never understand how they sell so much pre-ground coffee when buying whole beans is the same price per oz.
I don't care if whole beans are cheaper,
pre-ground is quicker and more convenient.

I stand with OP, if anything I'm annoyed he's giving away the secret of whole bean coffee. If you drink your coffee black you can clearly taste the difference between pre-ground and freshly ground. Don't even get me started on those godawful k cups.

exactly. it isn't a hassle at all.

It would be like offering sirloin steak for the same price as a ribeye and people choosing the sirloin.
Wait, you purchase ribeye? You don’t buy the entire cow and process yourself? It’s much cheaper pound for pound and taste better.

Why do people buy soap when they can make their own?

You don't grow your own coffee beans? You don't roast them yourself? What are you, some kind of pussy? You certainly aren't a coffee snob......drinking packaged shite beans you bought off a shelf. I'd never do that shite.
Pussy - I get up every morning, subdue a Guatemalan farmer as he comes off the mountain, steal his bag of beans and fly back to my house before the sun comes up

I challenge you to do a blind taste test of the same bean, say Community Breakfast Blend, in whole bean and pre-ground forms.
I wonder if you could actually taste the difference?
I kinda bet you can’t.

I’m not looking to add “grind the fricking coffee beans” plus associated cleanup to my morning routine for a barely noticeable taste improvement.

Well, yeah. If you can afford it, why not? Why settle for mediocre anything? That's a rhetorical question by the way. I understand why a lot of posters on the OT do so. It's because they're mediocre and for some reason decide to wallow in it as if it's a virtue.

I'm with you man! I buy whole bean French Truck and ginder it myself. I drink my coffee black, and you can clearly taste a difference.

There are electric and even battery powered grinders now, paw-paw. You just push a button.
