Why do you really care about the “anthem kneelers”

Seriously. Why does it chap your arse to see people kneel during the national anthem?
Wasn’t the fight for freedom over the past few hundred years meant so that if someone wishes to kneel during the anthem they very well can?
Why get triggered? I don’t kneel, I put my hand over my heart and sing it proudly, but if my favorite athlete does it, I don’t give a frick. That’s their choice and their right as an American.

This is very true and I agree ... BUT ... I’m also free to think less of people who kneel.

I don’t care about them. People can peacefully protest however they’d like.

If tomorrow all the things were gone I worked for all my life And I had to start again With just my children and my wife I thank my lucky stars To be living here today 'Cause the flag still stands for freedom And they can't take that away And I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free And I won't forget the men who died Who gave that right to me And I'd gladly stand up next to you And defend Her still today 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. From the lakes of Minnesota To the hills of Tennessee Across the plains of Texas From sea to shining sea From Detroit down to Houston And New York to L.A. Where's pride in every American heart And it's time we stand and say That I'm proud to be an American Where at least I know I'm free And I won't forget the men who died Who gave that right to me And I'd gladly stand up next to you And defend Her still today 'Cause there ain't no doubt I love this land God Bless the U.S.A. I only cared because they did it at work. Go do that shite on your own time. Not on company property, time, and jn their uniform. Run around with a ball and entertain me.

Sure, but freedom also means you can have the opinion to disagree with people kneeling for the national anthem.

I think there are better ways to protest that aren’t disrespectful to those that died for our country, that’s my opinion, people have the right to have their opinion about it & I'm ok with that

You win this thread.

it’s the stage they are doing it on. I want to watch sports and not have politics mingled in. It’s simple.
Much like how that fat frick TBob on 104.5 dribbles in bleeding heart nonsense into the morning sports talk show. I don’t listen anymore. I don’t want politics while listening for sports on my morning commute

quote:It’s stupid and won’t hurt anyone to kneel for a minute. If it weren’t for being overpaid at sports that working people are paying to see, they’d probably be poor and using the system. What exactly would LeBron and the rest be doing to set the world on fire if they weren’t athletes?

On the surface: Because I'm watching sports and don't want to deal with the BS
Deeper still: It was a sign of what was coming. Deep down we knew it was a horrible development that would lead to....riots based on this false notion that this is some sort of Apartheid/Jim Crow country where blacks are hunted down. Where white people are popping out of bushes killing them and keeping them down (as opposed to the reality that they cause most of their problems, and white people by and large have some level of fear of black people because they cause such disproportionate levels of crime)

A lot of men died defending this nation, they deserve the respect they’ve earned. I’m not saying you can’t kneel and protest during the National Anthem because they died so you could, but I don’t have to like you taking the moment set aside to honor their sacrifice for your cause, even if your cause is a good one.

Sums it up perfectly

Why do they even need the anthem before games? Do they play the anthem before your job?
It’s also disrespectful to the flag to wear it as a uniform, a helmet, a shirt, or use it in any advertisement. Nobody gives a shite about that.
A retired green beret suggested that Kaepernick kneel - as a sign of respect - like soldiers do at the grave of a fallen soldier.

Idgaf personally, I think the reason for kneeling was stupid, but Dumpf then hijacked it into an even more stupid thing about support ur flag as red meat for his base

It's an uncomfortable reality. A grown man shouldn't ever be so consumed with another grown mans actions when it has no effect on their life. There's an underlying issue here that nobody wants to deal with.

Kneeling itself doesn’t bother me. It bothers me that we are canceling a great man for disagreeing with the mob. Kneeling was just the thing he disagreed on.

Dumpf made it into an issue to play to the Murrica dolts in his base. He doesn't really care about the anthem, look at what he was doing during the super bowl anthem

Kneeling for the national anthem doesn't exclusively belong to Colin Kaepernick and his cause. I may start kneeling in the fall to bring attention to the slaughter of the unborn.
