You still see this in higher end chains. I hired high school kids for bagging/cart retrieval, cashiers and stockers were usually college aged with the occasional 6pm to close people being older ones working 2 jobs, department managers would be late 20s and up since that's where you start making more, then store managers would be 30s-40s and up.
Now Walmart for the most part is just a collection of stockers who had no other options. Department managers and above can make good money, but they work them to death.

All I know is the monitor tells me every time I go to the store and spend $210.45 that $210.45 is eligible for Food Stamps or however it's coded.
I cuss every time and keep telling myself I wonder how hard it would be to apply.

Yep. Average is like $92k and their bonus structure is insane. But their quality of life isn't the best. I call on 6 Walmarts and my store managers are there almost every single day.

Didn't get loaded with Student Loan debt and now runs the store in Boutte. That son of a bitch is never home though. I think he works easily 80hrs a week lol.

I was referring to how many minimum wage employers outright rely on the fact that their employees qualify for welfare benefits in lieu of offering their own.
I believe everyone should aspire to go beyond FF and retail or try to work the ladder in those occupations
