I am OG GOP Southern Conservative but insurance is basically a tax on the South we pay a bunch of non Christians on the East Coast and basically the oldest richest families in Europe.

Health insurance is even more ridiculous. Yes if the government did it they would frick it up but that probably means they would just frick you less.

Before you call me a communist or some shite you should know that insurance companies are trying to get the government to roll all named storms into the federal flood program and all cat damage like this fire situation into some type of federal coverage. (They reinsurance most of this shite with Lloyd’s anyway so it’s really just a battle between the Rothchilds and Rubin’s etc)

All my buddies on the beach or paying the twin snakes 12-25k a year for policies that don’t cover floods or hurricanes. After reading them they really don’t cover shite but maybe theft and kitchen fires. It’s 100% profit. They haven’t paid a single claim since Katrina. I offered to just insure then fir half that and would just give them a new lawnmower and bike every year as I could reinsure them for 30% of that. It’s just a pure “we are going to frick you because we can” tax but if you have a Mortgage u have to deal with them, but maybe we should ask why do they even exist. Maybe they are like the fed …,

This is basically equivalent to calling someone racist these days. Means nothing, but idiots will throw the term around with ease.

It's a risk pool.
My truck got stolen.
State farm paid out a fair settlement.
I didn't benefit.
I didn't get fricked.

Things could be improved.
But, I don't think it's a scam etc.
It is what it is ..a "risk pool".

Fan of my huffy, i keep it fresh. Dont drive it much and refrain from driving into other huffys. However, ive paid enough huffy insurance to buy a batmobile. The state\gulf south society has relied on breaking the system. Insurance has said f u. Huffy guy pays the toll.

There’s no group as openly willing to frick take customers over as insurance companies.

They also cause higher prices for everything and institute a level of fear mongering that makes us subservient to them.

I won’t lie and say I’ve never benefited from insurance. I have. But I can’t help but be mortified by it

I switched to travelers for home/auto after 20 years with nationwide. 1 month later my son rolls our brand new Jeep Cherokee and travelers paid out a $60k claim despite only receiving one premium from us. We actually made $100 on the deal. We had claim forgiveness so they can’t even raise our rates.

So in this one specific and very recent instance, insurance worked great for us.

I’m a libertarian, At it’s core my belief is their shouldn’t be. However the reality is people are A) shitbags and wouldn’t cover their own liability where it’s due and B) over 85% of Americans have 0 savings. So the world would come to a halt for all those individuals who need insurance in our current system.

However the current system needs a major overhaul and Louisiana badly badly needs tort reform

The government running healthcare would be the worst thing in the history of this nation.

I'm not trying to defend insurance companies in general, but if this is in the context of the fires in CA, how can anyone find fault with them? That state is a nightmare for insurance companies to operate in.

I think this point gets lost on people when they talk about Health Insurance, it is meant to be there when shite hits the fan to protect you not "discounted or free" healthcare. Not faulting folks for thinking it is that way due to HMOs and PPO plans that dominate the market.

What? The South is making claims on that insurance every year after hurricane season.

Ah yes, the ones who bark the loudest about insurance and how terrible it is are the ones who know the least about it.

WTF are you talking about? Those State Farm and AllState ads aren't going to fund themselves. Neither are the month long trips to Europe for your friendly local agent.

You must be high on Jesus if you believe this. You understand that fed and state gov wrote the rules under which private insurers operate, right?

federal coverage

Taxpayer coverage.

We all get to make choices in life.

I've never seen someone connect State Farm/insurance with the Jooos before. Congrats. I'll mention it to my agent buddies next time they tell me about their private barrel of bourbon they have aging in Kentucky.

I’ve seen you start multiple post like this which tells me you’re not an “ OG GOP Southern Conservative”. Your post, read like a leftist clown trying to justify your position by pretending to be something else

Damn, my European vacation was only 2 weeks last year, I need to step my game up.

A barrel of my own bourbon sounds nice too.

Hey Tut, do you have some of those premium dollas I can get?

And all the other emotional posters who know even less will upvote it, and it becomes a vicious cycle. There isn’t one ounce of truth in his entire OP
