Why do we put inmates on suicide watch?

This makes no sense to me, especially the ones who committed mass murders and stuff like that.
Why not let them do us taxpayers a favor?

Just get liability insurance. Would still be cheaper than paying for someone on death row or a life sentence

So you have something to ponder while stuffing your gullet with jalapeno poppers and route 44 sweet tea

Why do we bother with trials?

to know when to drag their cold dead arse out of the cell after they do the deed, you know, so they don’t suffer cruel and unusual punishment...

Why do we put inmates in the first place? Just let the cops do them justice

Not if inmates start offing themselves because they realize they can get their families paid. Insurance starts getting expensive if they keep having to pay out.
Plus, there's the idea that the state has a moral and ethical obligation to reasonably protect people in its custody from harm, even if that harm might be self-inflicted.

Does one lose his life insurance policy once incarcerated?

Good luck trying to prove your untimely death in prison wasn't in any way at all related to your life being irrevocably flipped upside down by being sent to prison.

Because we are supposed to be better than the people committing the crimes.
If you left a murderer to die you are no better than they are.

Seems we could pass a law relieving prisons of any liability on suicides?

Kiddie diddlers wouldn't even make it to the bond hearing if they didn't get the smock

Think about the fact that occasionally innocent people spend years in prison and are later exonerated.
Now think about how messed up it would be if the next person who gets exonerated killed himself years ago.

Suicide is easy... they need to suffer.
Think about it....
Some pedo, rapist or murderer just offs himself rather than "suffering" being raped in prison. That in itself is a crime.

Why let them take the easy way out?
