Same reason people care about that one from Mt. Brook in Aruba, rich and white grabs eyes for the media.

Most care in some way because it was such a young girl violently killed in her home and the case is still unsolved.

Add to that the wealth of the family, their initial cooperation with authorities, then pulling back and having no contact with them by "Lawyering Up" and it smacks of an inside job by one of the family members.

If this was a case that involved little Tiffany down the block from a middle class family, it would long have been a footnote in cold case files and likely never mentioned outside of family members and some cops who may still be working on the case when time is spared.

I have always felt it was someone from outside the family, but the parents panicked and wrote the ransom note, which put the spotlight went on them. Everybody knows if your 6 year old daughter ends up dead in your basement that the police are going to suspect you, which was why the parents screwed up the entire case by having Patsy write the note in an effort to deflect it off them.

I think the theory of JBR being a child prostitute and her parents pimping her out is a real possibility. JBR and her brother had issues with shite and JBR had chronic UTIs and previous vaginal damage.

Serious question..... JonBenet being garrotted could point to the brother from a theory I read. Could the Dad have taught the brother that form knot tying being as he was in the military. Brother hates sister. Abuses and does that to her. Dad and mom realize what happened and try to cover it up. Is that not possible with the facts that we have? I feel like I read somewhere the dad should have known how to tie that type of knot.

Little girls are murdered or go missing all the time. Just recently in Tennessee a little girl was taken by her dad and murdered. You'll never hear about it. Little black girl shot and killed in Chicago - the police have no idea who did it, we'll probably never know, and you'll never hear about it.

The bottom line is that if the kid isn't part of a prominent family, the cops aren't going to put much effort into finding the culprit.

That little Black girl in Chicago that was murdered is not less important than Ramsey or our kids but effort isn't put forth for "less important" families.

Remember that little girl in Florida whos sperm donor "father" threw her over the side of a bridge to kill her?
Gotta say I cried when I heard about that. She was terrified of the water and killed by her father.

We didn't hear much more about it, did we? He should've been given the cement shoes treatment but instead is living on tax payer money is some prison.

Your post proves my point. You present things as facts that ARE NOT facts LOL, many of them in fact have actually been disproven. So let's go point by point:

* autopsy evidence suggests a history of sexual abuse
False. Her pediatrician who saw her 30 times in the previous three years emphatically denies this. The official autopsy denies this.

her brother beat her with a gold club
False. Her nine year old brother SWUNG a golf club while she was standing behind him and clipped her on the backswing a year earlier. Same thing my brother did with a baseball bat. It's called an accident not homicidal rage.

her brother would smear feces all over her room
Please provide a reputable investigative source for this. When ? Smear? Or put her poo in her bed to tease her because she was shitting the bed?

the letter was in Patsy’s handwriting
False. Boulder police hired four handwriting experts and the Ramseys hired two who made comparisons between the ransom note and writing exemplars by Patsy Ramsey. None of the six experts identified Patsy Ramsey as the author. Although they also did not eliminate her as the possible author, the consensus was that she “probably did not” write the letter. On a scale of one to five with the high score of five being elimination, they scored her between a 4 and 4.5.

patsy was wearing the same dress the following day (wtf?!)
True. Finally a fact. And now what?

* the note told the family to “rest up” even though they were already sleeping (?)

True. And ? Now what?

neighbors heard screaming but apparently no one in the house woke up from their peaceful slumber while their daughter was beaten and garrotted

FALSE. One neighbor says she heard a scream around midnight. She did not report it at the time. In fact she told a neighbor who in turn told police she was so sketchy in her recollection. She then said she can't be sure which night it was. She can not say where the scream came from. She also said she may have heard "Jon Benet's energy" (this is very Boulder) and not an actual scream. There were no other reports and no barking dogs. As for the home, if there was a scream from the basement, it WOULD have been more easily heard on the street via basement vents than on the 4th floor parents room. If you know the home, you understand this.

family wouldn’t cooperate with the investigation
False. Boulder detectives interviewed both John and Patsy Ramsey on Dec. 26, Dec. 27, and Dec. 28, 1996.The Ramseys also provided police with handwriting samples and supervised written exemplars. Suspects also gave hair, including pubic hair, and DNA samples to police.

grand jury wanted to charge the family but was torpedoed
True. Grand jury voted on probable cause, Alex Hunter felt he could not meet reasonable doubt standard. This happens all the time.

* there were no footprints or any evidence of a break in
False. Lou Smit blew this up early in the investigation. Photographs taken the day JonBenét’s body was found show someone could have easily walked on dry concrete to basement windows without stepping in snow. Plus there was a Hi Tek boot footprint found in the dust by her body and there was no Hi Tek boot ever found in the home. Who did that belong to? Where is it now?

the FBI knows of no other case where an intruder breaks in, kills the person, and then remains at the location for maybe an hour to scribble a weird random note. Oh and the note referenced John’s Xmas bonus money

True. But this was never the "Intruder theory". The intruder theory states that was likely in the home for 3/4 hours while they were at the Christmas Party. The note was written FIRST. He rummaged through their home for hours in the meantime. Who knows what he did or what he found in those hours.

I could go on and on. I truly don’t understand how you orvanyone else could believe some intruder did it. You don’t have to believe the parents did it beyond a reasonable doubt, but to think that someone other than them did it is delusional IMO

I originally thought they did it too, based on media reports. IDNGAF about John or Burke Ramsey I have no dog in this hunt, but I believe the evidence points elsewhere. My question to you, which went unanswered, is WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENED? WHAT IS THE MOTIVE? WHY DID LOVING PARENTS GARROTE, BIND AND TORTURE THEIR BELOVED DAUGHTER TO DEATH? WHY DID THEY ALLOW HER TO SUFFER FOR TWO HOURS BETWEEN THE INITIAL BLOW AND THE RITUALISTIC STRANGULATION? And since you cite the FBI, can you give us a single other case where parents faked a kidnapping ,performed a highly sadistic and RITUALISTIC torture murder of their own child and left the body in their own home?

There is plenty more. Lsupimp is defending the Ramseys solely on the fact he's been near the nice home and area and is going off the assumption that no one living in that nice of a house in that nice of a neighborhood could possibly have committed the kidnapping and murder of Jonbenet.

I'm not "defending" the Ramseys. I'm just following the facts of the case . I have talked here for 15 years about my personal connection to this case and my views have changed over time because of those facts. How nice their neighborhood is has nothing to do with the facts of the case or how I rationally came to believe they did not bludgeon, bind and torture their own daughter to death.

The binding and garotting. Very rare and very specific. This method is employed by an offender with a very specific psychological profile. It points to an offender with a specific sexual fantasy involving bindings. Not Mom and dad. There is no other case in the crime literature where parents use that manner of prolonged death on their own child.

That knot was taught in scouts. And it wasn’t really a garrote. It was nylon rope with a stick tied to it

Yes. A garotte. That's what a garotte is. A rope and a stick.

I'm not arguing Mom and/or Dad didn't know HOW to tie a knot, I'm arguing about the absolute statistical rarity of a parent garroting their child to death.
