Apparently we learned a ton about hypothermia from them.

I mean...that's one article.
I have never heard of any Japanese requesting an apology.

The Japanese hated all other Asians. It's kind of the same thing.

I’d say I’m surprised by this post, but I’m really not.

Unit 731 is crazy.
Not only that we worked with them after the war.

That's exactly what made Hitler mad. He labeled groups lessor then seeked to wipe them out.

Because Japanese are not white.

I’m both disappointed and proud that no one has mentioned Jewish control of the media and thus narrative.

why does the US get a pass on a lot of the atrocities we have committed? waht we did to native Americans? to Koreans and Vietnamese? in the Philippines? in cuba?

no, cause they make cheaper electronics
The Japanese file for and receive more patents per capita than any other country on earth. They were definitely merciless during WW2 but let's not pretend they're a buncha noodle-eating dumbasses.

Because we nuked them
Twice

No we did not. We hanged a lot of them for war crimes after the war.
Hirohito and the royal family got off, when they should have all been thrown to the Chinese mob and let them be ripped apart.

We let them off the hook in exchange for their research.
It's absolutely insane to think about using human being as lab rats. When you read about shite like that, it makes you question a few things about life in general, but the data they collected must have been extremely valuable.. To accept it in exchange for not punishing them for the war crimes they committed.

Having lived in Japanese homes for two years, and being a student of Japanese culture and history, the thing that makes me shake my head at all these "JAPS SUCK" threads is the lack of basic understanding that 73 years later Japan may be the most pro-American culture on the face of the earth, have a RIDICULOUSLY admirable culture, and our our most invaluable security partner in Asia.
Hundreds of books have detailed Japanese atrocities. The facts are all there for any person who is curious. They did not "get a pass" . Quite the opposite in fact. They were utterly destroyed. They faced the existential end of their entire civilization. They became the only country to suffer atomic attack. They had MILLIONS of casualties. Tokyo was burned to the ground. Two great cities-Nagasaki and Hiroshima were obliterated. War leaders were tried and executed. Then their entire society was voluntarily reshaped and remade in probably the greatest societal transformation in human history.
The story of Japan is a remarkable achievement. It's an amazing story of two cultures (America and Japan) working together to redress all their atrocities and crimes against all odds, against thousands of years of human history. We made peace. We became friends. It's remarkable and should be celebrated.

There is a book titled “American Caesar “ by William Manchester. It is a biography of General Douglas MacArhur. The book has a chapter of how and why MacArthur let Hirohito ( emperor ) and a the other chosen ones off. We did hang a few mostly Generals and prison camp guards and leaders. The Japanese military establishment was made up of barbaric animals. Read. “ prisoners of the japanese “. It has stories of contractors that were caught on the islands at the beginning of the war. Tough tough times.

I said the Japanese military were animals. My Dad was attached to MacArthurs HQ during the first two years of occupation. He became friends with several families over there. He was able to help get them some things that otherwise they couldn’t have got. He said they were fine people and he enjoyed some good time with them in their homes. I. Know I would have wanted to get as deep as I could have( about seven inches) into some of their culture.

Unimaginable savagery and through the ranks. It even extended to civilian life. I was a wee lad living in Guam when a Japanese holdout soldier living in a nearby cave surrendered. They were a unique breed of emperor- worshipping true believers and their atrocities were ten miles long.
Fortunately....
